UNBELIEVABLE ELVIS SITE!!!
http://www.keithflynn.com/

I just found this INCREDIBLE Elvis site by Keith Flynn and actually I have
no idea what lead me there but I'm glad I discovered it! Have you ever seen
lLvis sing "TONIGHT'S ALL RIGHT FOR LOVE" from GI BLUES? Well, if you're
like me, the answer is a DEFINITE "NO"! Sure, we all know that it was cut
out of the US, etc versions for copyright reasons but we also knew that it
WAS in some other countries' editions but I have NEVER seen this - UNTIL
NOW! Somehow Keith found it and the ENTIRE video cut of this song is on his
site. But that's not all! This site contains other videos like: The
Impossible Dream (Madison Square Garden June 10 1972 - Evening Show);
Russwood Park - Memphis (July 4 1956); I Don't Want To (Trailer from Girls
Girls Girls); Wild In The Country - Trailer (with deleted 'Lonely Man'
scene); Jailhouse Rock (Advertisement)! Plus there are great audio rarities
as well as all kinds of session information and "live" recording info. Trust
me, this is a MUST GO TO SITE!!! STOP EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW and go to the
KEITH FLYNN'S ELVIS PRESLEY PAGES site! I LOVE IT!!!

Elvis On Cover American Heritage Magazine.

On our cover: The sultry celebrity at the peak of his early fame-and looking
it-in a photo from about 1956. (Bettman/Corbis)

Elvis is featured on the cover of the latest edition of "American heritage"
magazine. Inside an article on "Elvis At 70".

From the magazine's website:

The year 2005 contains two major anniversaries in american popular music. It
marks 50 years since 1955, when rock 'n' roll first conquered the pop
singles chart, and also what would have been the seventieth birthday of
Elvis Presley (who was so young when he made his initial breakthrough that
his father had to co-sign his first contract with RCA Records for him). For
Elvis, the timing was perfect. However, in terms of my own appreciation of
both occurrences, the timing was completely off.

My father was born the same year as Elvis Aron Presley, and I came along a
season or so after the King returned from the Army. My dad was slightly too
old to be part of the demographic that made Elvis a superstar, and I was too
young to get it. When I was first starting to notice pop music, in the
1970s, it was in a fallow period. I was caught between disco and punk, and
neither appealed to me. Rock 'n' roll was music that my parents' generation
liked. It meant the Stones, the Dead, Hendrix, Dylan, and other figures
whose attraction still remains beyond my comprehension. (To this day the
only records I have by them are LPs from my late dad's collection.)

By 1977, the year both Elvis and Bing Crosby died, I had already infiltrated
my father's jazz stash and begun working forward from Armstrong's Hot Fives
and Bix through Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, and John Coltrane. Along the
way I also discovered Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and the great American
songbook. Rock 'n' roll remained for me a bizarre thing that held some
strange fascination for zillions of people but that I just couldn't get
started with. One thing that I did have in common with most rock fans of my
generation was that none of us knew what to make of Elvis Presley. By the
time of his death he was a joke to high school kids born in the sixties and
who listened to the Sex Pistols (whose Sid Vicious savaged both Sinatra and
Presley in his parody of "My Way"), David Bowie, Kiss, or, in my case, Bing.

Elvis Presley seemed like a caricature in his last few years ... Read the

Elvis' coffin pillow listed on eBay.

The range of Elvis items being listed on eBay is staggering. The latest
amazing item listed is the pillow that Elvis' head rested on in his coffin!
The pr reads: "This is the pillow that was in Elvis's casket, it was removed
by my husband Robert Kendall the head funeral director on Elvis's funeral.
This is the only item listed for sale to Elvis collectors. This was the
biggest funeral of my husband's career and I held it for sentimental
reasons. I feel that this item would better in a Elvis collection. The
pillow was made from the lining and the pad from the casket, and had to be
removed because Elvis sat too high and the lid would not close. This is a
one of a kind Elvis piece that would be the prize of any collector's
showcase. This pillow can be seen in the book "The King is Dead". The eBay

The King's daughter airs her "Dirty Laundry"

Lisa Marie Presley has re-recorded Don Henley's 23-year-old hit Dirty
Laundry in an effort to blast the press who have made her life difficult.
The track, which will be the first single from her new album Now What, will
also be used in promos for hit TV show Desperate Housewifes. Meanwhile,
Presley teams up with former Sex Pisztols star Steve Jones on another new
track, Idiot, and collaborates with in demand songwriter Linda Perry and
Pink on six other tunes. Of writing with former 4 Non Blondes star Perry,
Presley states, "I thought if I wrote with a bad a*s popular songwriter,
they would try and push me to a compromised politically correct commercial
place. "Thank you for not doing that! You went with who I am... and I don't
think I've ever had so much fun in the writing process." Pop punk Pink
guests on the tune Shine.

Property Overlooking Elvis' Birthplace To Be Auctioned.

A buyer for property located across from Elvis Presley's birthplace is being
sought internationally through the online auction site, EBay.

Tupelo, MS (PRWEB) February 25, 2005 -- After receiving much attention from
Tupelo city officials, the media, and support from the public, Mr. Joey
Brewer, owner of The Blue Suede Shoe Bed & Breakfast, Catering, and Gifts,
is auctioning his property, located at 501 Elvis Presley Drive, Tupelo,
Mississippi, on EBay, the leading internet auction site.

Mr. Brewer bought the property in hopes of renovating and molding this split
level home on approximately 2 acres to offer a comfortable bed & breakfast
to devout fans of the departed "King." "This property is located across the
street from where over 100,000 registered visitors
come yearly and stand in awe of how a small Mississippian, born in a one
room home, influenced the sound of music forever," says Mr. Brewer. "This
place is a gold mine."

The Birthplace of Elvis is the highest visited landmark in the state of
Mississippi. Mr. Brewer, knowing this fact, feels this property will appeal
to anyone with good business sense, and an entrepreneur or investor will
jump at the chance to purchase this property. "The new Oren Dunn Museum of
the American Dream, soon to be built two lots over, will increase the
traffic to this area too," Mr. Brewer explained, "adding to the expected
revenues this property will realize. The
Furniture Market alone in this area requires that more unique housing
opportunities are offered. There's only one other bed and breakfast in town.
Not everyone can stay there due to space constraints. This will be a perfect
location for a bed and breakfast and gift shop."

Mr. Brewer looked beyond the normal boundaries of the U.S. to sell this
property. "This property is unique. I felt that a realtor was not going to
give the exposure that this idea needs. Elvis is known worldwide, and I
wanted to provide an opportunity of purchase to Elvis
fans abroad," said Mr. Brewer. "That's why I chose to auction the property
on EBay." Although the home has been posted on the EBay site for almost 4
days, almost 380 people have clicked on the link to the sale of this home
and property. Mr. Brewer is eager that he will receive a bid on this hot
spot of real estate very soon, and the next owner could be from anywhere in
the world.

This property can be viewed and bid upon until March 21, 2005 07:54:35 PST
at http://www.ebay.com Enter Item Number: "4359348927" or Type "501 Elvis
Presley" in the Search Box.

Elvis Is Back!

Belgium Poster

UK Poster

Promotor Clear Channel-Belgium has begun it's campaign to fill the last
empty seats for Elvis The Concert. If you're visiting Brussels one of these
days, you really can't miss them: almost every corner has a red/orange
poster announcing the Concert of April 26th in Brussels, Forest National.
Clear Channel distributed 1.000 posters in Brussels, 900 in Flanders, and
another 500 in the French speaking part of Belgium. The baseline "Live On
Stage"', of course, refers to the band and backing vocals. But the main
title says it all: "Elvis Is Back". And, as we'd like to add: "He's here to
stay"!

Marvin "GeeGee" Gambill, Jr., who was a longtime friend of Elvis and, in the
1960s, a member of his personal staff/entourage, died Sunday, February 20th.
He was struck by a vehicle while walking to work in Nashville and succumbed
to his injuries soon after. He was 61.

GeeGee was at one time married to Elvis's cousin Patsy Presley. Among his
survivors are Jimmy Gambill and Deana Gambill Mokry, who are the two
children, now adults, from his marriage to Patsy.

A private burial was today in Arkansas near the graves of Gee Gee's mother
and brother. His sister, who lives far away, has charge of arrangements and
has indicated that a memorial service for friends and family to attend is
being planned for later in the year.

Any further information the family provides for us to share with you will be
posted as we receive it. In the meantime, our thoughts and prayers are with
GeeGee's family.

Elvis, the Fashion Icon.

Strange, it really is. It seems as if a new Elvis has risen lately: "Elvis,
the Fashion Icon". Several Belgian news papers described the new phenomena:
"Het Laatste NIeuws" (2/22) explains about the upcoming summer fashion:
short cut T-shirts with Elvis's image. "De Morgen" (2/23)made a list of the
most popular artist-tattoos. Guess who has the number one spot? And even the
highly acclaimed magazine "Knack" (2/23) reports about the "Eternal life of
a Hound Dog", and the popularity of Elvis (and his modelling grandchildren)
among designers...

FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER ON CD.

Elvis Presley's November 1970 Seattle concert mastered from the original
source tape used during recording.

After Elvis made his comeback special in 1968, he returns doing live
performances again and starts in Las Vegas in the summer of 1969.  Elvis
however didn't start his concert tours (except for Houston in 1970) until
the fall of 1970 - which was his first tour since 1957.  Elvis was at the
peak of his performing abilities, playing night after night and being a
smash hit everywhere he played which was Oakland, Portland, Seattle, San
Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Oklahoma City and Denver.

For the first time ever Unicorn Records has released Elvis' Seattle,
Washington performance mastered from the very tape that recorded Elvis'
electrifying performance on November 12, 1970 - taken directly from the
original tape (no second or third generation mastering).

Seattle, Washington, November 12, 1970
That's All Right / I Got A Woman - Amen / Love Me Tender / You Don't Have To
Say You Love Me / Sweet Caroline / You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' / Polk

His fans are TCB.

Elvis Presley is like an eBay nation unto himself, with more than 25,000
items attached to his name and memory. (There are 172 items just in the
subcategory of "Knives, Swords and Blades.") Everything from the original
mold for Elvis' "TCB" sunglasses ("Buy it Now" for just $2.5 million) to his
Palm Springs Police badge ("Buy it Now" for just $50,000) to a water cup
Elvis supposedly drank from in 1977 ("Only Sir Paul McCartney can bid. I
deliver in person") to enough plates, spoons and cups to serve supper to the
entire state of Mississippi.

You can also buy a replica of a ginormous gold ring Elvis wore in his final
concert appearance. Buy it now for just $12,950. The manufacturer says, "For
those on a budget we make the ring using full cut Russian Zirconia at
$4,295."

Good to know.

Washington and Lincoln outshine Presley in terms of monuments, schools and
holidays, but Elvis is the undisputed president of eBay Nation.

Sony/BMG Elvis overview for 2005.

King of Rock & Roll is More Popular Than Ever

Box Set of U.S. #1 Singles and 2-CD 'Elvis By The Presleys' Soundtrack
Coming from SONY BMG

Elvis Presley is still a newsmaker in 2005. A spate of albums, reissued
singles, TV specials, and newspaper articles testify to Presley's continuing
popularity. The 70th Anniversary of Elvis Presley's Birthday (8th January,
1935) has seen massive recognition across the board.

"Elvis irrevocably changed rock history with his voice, his guitar, and his
hips. He's the true King of Rock and Roll and a whole new generation is
discovering him in 2005," says Joe DiMuro, Executive Vice President and
General Manager of SONY BMG Strategic Marketing Group, Presley's musical
home. Both long-time Elvis fans and newcomers have plenty of new projects to
enjoy. Here are some examples:

- SONY BMG has embarked on the most ambitious singles release campaign in
the history of the U.K. record industry. All 18 of Elvis Presley's U.K. #1
singles are being reissued over 17 consecutive weeks, from January 3, 2005
and ending on April 25, 2005. Thus far in 2005, "Jailhouse Rock," "It's Now
Or Never," and "One Night" have all catapulted to #1 on the singles chart;
"One Night" was the 1000th #1 in the history of the U.K. chart.

- SONY BMG Strategic Marketing Group has announced a box set of Elvis' U.S.
#1 singles to be released this fall . Featuring signature hits such as
"Hound Dog," "Jailhouse Rock," and "Love Me Tender," this collection
promises to please both casual and devoted Elvis fans. The set will include
original artwork in a stunning package. See bottom for Presley's U.S. #1s.

- CBS will air six hours of Elvis programming all over one week in May,
including the premier of "Elvis By The Presleys" on May 13 (8:00-10:00 PM,
ET/PT). The two-hour special features a collection of newly recorded
interviews with his former wife, Priscilla Beaulieu Presley, and their
daughter, Lisa Marie Presley told only the way a family could. Exclusive
never-before-seen television performances, photographs from the Presley
Estate archives and Presley family home movies will be broadcast for the
first time in an intimate look at the King.

- A four-hour miniseries, "ELVIS" is set to air May 8 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT)
and May 11 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS. 'ELVIS' will tell Presley's
electrifying yet tumultuous story -- from his humble beginnings to his
meteoric rise to fame. The fact-based drama is being produced with the full
co-operation and participation of the Elvis Presley Estate and is the first
time that Presley's master recordings will be heard in a biographical film.
Jonathan Rhys-Meyers ("Bend It Like Beckham," "Alexander") will portray
Elvis.

- Crown Publishers, a division of Random House, Inc., will publish a book,
also titled "Elvis by the Presleys." Along with interviews with Priscilla
and Lisa Marie, taken from the CBS special, the book will include a lavish
collection of personal photos, memorabilia, hand-written notes selections
from scrapbooks and previously unseen shots of Graceland from the Elvis
archives. It will be in stores on May 3.

- SONY BMG Strategic Marketing Group will release the 'Elvis By The
Presleys' soundtrack collection in May. The two CDs will include tracks from
the special, Elvis' favorites, and family picks by Priscilla and Lisa Marie
as well as rare, previously unreleased cuts and outtakes.

- In January SONY BMG Strategic Marketing Group reissued Elvis' first three
releases including expanded artwork and bonus tracks. The Los Angeles Times
recently featured an extended thinkpiece on the 1956 album 'Elvis Presley'
(SONY BMG). Robert Hilburn called the album "a revelation," going on to
write, "you still marvel at Presley's bold approach -- and the youthful
assurance of that stirring voice, which mixes pop crooning with renegade
country and R&B spirit."

- In January SONY BMG Strategic Marketing Group also released "Love, Elvis"
which brings together twenty-four of Elvis' greatest romantic songs,
including a previously unreleased alternate take of "For The Good Times.
This release debuted its first week on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart.

- Elvis has climbed the charts, he's conquered TV and now, this May, he
takes over Broadway. At the beginning of May SONY BMG Strategic Marketing
Group will release the cast recording soundtrack to "All Shook Up" - a brand
new Broadway musical featuring 26 of Elvis' hits.

This is EPE's response on possible DVD releases for the upcoming TV
specials: "Elvis By the Presleys" will be on DVD from BMG soon. Date cannot

Sammi Smith has died - "Help Me Make It Through the Night.

Sammi Smith released the original #1 Country and #8 Pop hit recording of
Kris Kristofferson's "Help Me Make It Through the Night" in 1970, which
Elvis then recorded in May, 1971.

NASHVILLE (Billboard) - The Grammy Award-winning voice of the 1970 hit "Help
Me Make It Through the Night" has been silenced.

Country singer/songwriter Sammi Smith died Feb. 12 in Oklahoma City after an
extended illness. She was 61.

Smith took the Kris Kristofferson-penned "Help Me Make It Through the Night"
to No. 1 on the Billboard country singles chart; the song also became a
crossover pop hit. It earned Smith a Grammy for best country vocal
performance, female, and was named the Country Music Assn.'s single of the
year in 1971.

Smith's 1970 album of the same name went to No. 1 on the Billboard Top
Country Albums chart, where it remained for three weeks. It was the most
successful of the nine titles she placed on that chart.

The Kristofferson classic was one of 37 singles Smith landed on the
Billboard country chart between 1968 and 1986 on such labels as Columbia,
Mega, Elektra, Zodiac and Sound Factory. Her other top 10 hits were "Then
You Walk In" (1971) and "Today I Started Loving You Again" (1975).

Smith began her career singing in clubs at age 11. As a songwriter, her
compositions were recorded by artists including Waylon Jennings, who had a
top 15 hit with her "Cedartown, Georgia" in 1971.

Smith's son, Waylon Payne, is a country performer who records for
Republic/Universal. In addition to Payne, Smith is survived by sons Robert
and Bobby White and daughter Snow White of Fort Smith, Ark., and sons Alfred
and Albert Keay of Globe, Ariz.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Recording Academy's MusiCares
Foundation, 1904 Wedgewood Ave., Nashville, Tenn. 37212.

Elvis miniseries to post at i.d.e.a.s.

CBS's original miniseries "Elvis" will get a local touch from Orlando-based

miniseries began Jan. 10 in New Orleans and runs through the first of March.

post-production work on March 21, with a completion date of April 30 in time
for a two-night showing of the miniseries on CBS during the week of May 8.

Cult Elvis movie opens in Australia.

Bubba Ho-Tep opens in cinemas across Australia this week. An extraordinary
movie that stars Bruce Campbell as Elvis, who is now an old man living in an
East Texas retirement home. In the film Elvis teams up with fellow resident
Jack (the late Ossie Davis - see 12 Feb 2005) who believes himself to be
John F. Kennedy (tinted brown) and the two of them face up to an evil
Egyptian entity who has escaped during transportation and has chosen their
retirement home as a hunting ground for souls on which to revive. Bubba
Ho-Tep is one bizarre trip. In an imaginative twist of facts,
writer/director Don Coscarelli has written a whopper of a screenplay that
guarantees to make your jaw drop and your eyes open wide for the duration.
It's outrageous and full of novel ideas that will tickle the fancy of anyone
who is stimulated by the absurd. Margaret Pomeranz of the ABC reviewed Bubba
Ho-Tep giving the film 3 ½ stars out of five. Released over one year ago in
the U.S, it finally opens in cinemas across Australia this week.

Johnny Carson, the "Tonight Show" TV host died Jan 23rd aged 79.

While not particularly connected with Elvis, they were mutual fans. Carson
did meet with Elvis in 1969 and saw him live in Vegas.

Here are two stories from Alanna Nash's great book, Elvis Aaron Presley
Revelations of The Memphis Mafia:

Marty Lacker: "Carson had one of his people call to get his son a table and
arrange for him to meet Elvis backstage. When he came back, his son was
completely obnoxious. Later, Johnny called Elvis and apologized for his
kid's behaviour."

Billy Smith: "Elvis was always crazy about Johnny Carson. But then a few
years later, Johnny was doing his monologue one night and Elvis was watching
him, and Johnny said something about Elvis being "fat and forty." And boy,
Elvis turned against him after that. He wouldn't hardly watch him anymore."
Carson however did make two very amusing and pertinent comments about Elvis
that are worth remembering. "Have you noticed that all Elvis impersonators
look the alike but none of them look like Elvis?!" and when Elvis died
Johnny Carson very appropriately said, "If life was fair, Elvis would be
alive and the impersonators would be dead"

Elvis singalong record is smashed.

An Elvis impersonator is thought to have smashed the world record for the
longest singalong of the King's songs (see 19 Feb 2005). Gary Jay, 41, of
March, Cambridgeshire, completed his marathon on Friday after 51 hours and
four minutes of songs. The old record of 42 hours, 16 minutes and eight
seconds was held by an Elvis impersonator from Germany. Mr Jay, who
originally set the record at Planet Hollywood in London in 2002, is now
awaiting official confirmation from the Guinness Book of Records. To reclaim
the title Mr Jay had to perform the marathon to a reasonable standard and in
full Elvis costume with just one 15 minute break every four hours

UK FANS ONLY - PROGRAMMES ON TV THIS WEEK.

Tomorrow (20th) Channel 4 repeats the 'Ultimate Pop Idol' programme where
Cliff Richard is given the title ahead of The Beatles and Elvis. This title
is allegedely based on the amount of singles various artists have sold in
the UK only since 1952. The programme airs between 8 p.m. and 11.30 p.m. and
is followed by 'The Real Cliff Richard' - "A look at the singer's life and
career, asking if Britain's love affair with the perennial bachelor boy owes
more to a fascination with his saintly image rather than his talent during a
career spanning 45 years".

With regard to the first programme I would appreciate anyone keeping an eye
open as to the source of the sales figures given and how they were
tabulated. When the programme was first shown I could not find any source
whatsoever and on writing to the said Channel 4 TV I was refused permission
as to any source. I did an audit trail and found one of the Directors of the
Programme was affiliated to Chrysallis TV which is closely linked to EMI
which in turn is the record label for both Cliff Richard and The Beatles.
Needless to say BMG(UK) state they were not consulted whatsoever with regard
to Elvis' UK record sales.

On Monday evening (21st) between 9 p.m. and 11.05 p.m. Channel 5 TV airs
'Britain's Favourite No.1' as voted by the public. No surprise that
'Bohemian Rhapsody' by Queen tops this poll but Elvis is in the top 10 at
No.8 I believe with 'Jailhouse Rock'. No Beatles records in the Top 10. With
the amount of Elvis No.1's it is not surprising that he did not achieve a
higher placing.

Starring Elvis Presley This Summer In Finland!

A unique, and never before so comprehensively arranged Elvis exhibition,
theFootsteps of Elvis, will be held this summer, 2005, in Naantali.

It has been collected together from the largest, outsideGracelandexisting
private Elvis collection.

At the same time Lew Allen`s famous photo exhibition theBirth of Rock will
be held in the city of Turku.

The year 2005 is an Elvisyear of celebration. Elvis was born onJanuary 8th
1935and had he still been alive today, he would have celebrated his 70th
Birthday this year.

Elvis Aaron Presley belongs to the absolute top among the greatest stars of
the world of popular music, who have influenced the music business. He is
without any doubt the King of Rock`n'roll. We can clearly see the impact he
has had on composers and musicians over the decades from generation to
generation.

John Lennonfrom the Beatles has said, "Before Elvis there was nothing". That
is a statement which has become classic.

Elvis Presley has sold more than a billion records all over the world and
that is more than anybody else in the history of popular music.

In theU.S.A.alone Elvis has received 149 gold and platinum records. It is
estimated that about 40% of the total sales of his records have been sold
outside theU.S.

Elvis made his last recordings in June 1977 but still today his records
reach the top of the charts all over the world.

Jailhouse Rockreached, in January 2005, the number one position in the
English single's chart.

The last time the same song was number one in the charts was about half a
century ago.

During the spring of 2005, all of his so called top-one singles, i.e. top
tunes, will be released inEngland.

- Never before has anybody within popular music been celebrated so much and
the reason for this is that Elvis has meant so much, says Sony BMGs
marketing manager and president, Darren Henderson.

Elvis never performed inEurope. Not even inGermanywhere he did his military
service between 1958-1960.

Despite this over the years inEuropethere has been great interest in his
movies, his music and his performances.

Footsteps of Elvis is a private collection and thus not associated with or
linked to Elvis Presley Enterprises

"Comeback Special" listed by Rolling Stone as one of coolest DVDs ever.

In the February 24th edition of Rolling Stone the remastered DVD "Elvis' '68
Comeback Special" is listed as one of the "Coolest DVD's Ever".

The copy reads: "Presley's deservedly legendary '68 Comeback Special, plus
hours of amazing rare footage.
What's Cool? Between takes, a bored Elvis calls for his electric guitar and
kicks off a scorching jam on "Baby, What You Want Me to Do.""

"Walking in Memphis" not really about Elvis.

Singer-songwriter Marc Cohn recently had this to say about the time he wrote
the hit Walking In Memphis: On that trip (to Memphis), he met Muriel, a
weathered, 70-year-old gospel and blues singer who played gigs in an
Arkansas roadhouse. They played spirituals and standards, and as they
strummed and hummed, the place grew as quiet as midnight in a rural town.
After the last song together, "Amazing Grace," she leaned over and whispered
something about his mother. "She died when I was quite young," Cohn said.
"She said that it was OK for me to move on. For a stranger to have that kind
of insight, and apply it at just the right moment, was huge." So Cohn always
felt a little irritated when they said "Walking in Memphis" was a song about
Elvis. "As brilliant as Elvis was, he wasn't nearly as much of an
inspiration as Muriel," he said. "She is the centerpiece of the song."

Elvis to make new record.

One man's passion for Elvis has resulted in him taking up a 48-hour singing
marathon in a bid to break a world record. Gary Jay set the original
Guinness world record for singing Elvis songs non-stop for 25 hours 22
minutes and 30 seconds, while dressed as the King himself, in 2002. But last
year German Elvis impersonator Franz Nubel smashed the record after
performing for 42 hours, 16 minutes and eight seconds. Now the
father-of-four Gary wants his crown back and has embarked on a new
record-breaking attempt. Gary, 41, of Cavalry Drive, March, is only allowed
to pause between songs for a maximum of 30 seconds and will only get a 15
minute break from singing every four hours. This means he will effectively
go without sleep for two days, but this isn't his biggest worry.

Elvis DNA - spoof story.

According to a clever "spoof" story marked AP (associated Press), Priscilla
Presley is now the licensee and owner of a patent that discloses the
invention of chrimeric genes and cells, that replicate in nature, some of
the qualities of Elvis Presley. Now, particularly in Las Vegas, scores of
Elvis impersonators face the possibility of million dollar lawsuits being
filed against them for alleged infringing "use" made by them. Some of these
impersonators may be forced to prove they have not achieved their
outstanding results (looks? voice? etc) by the prior injection of some of
the protected genes and cells. "These Elvis impersonators have not sought a
license or permission from EPE," said Priscilla. "From this day forward, EPE
will require designated Elvis impersonators to enter into a licensing
agreement called an Elvis Aaron Use Agreement."

The gig of a lifetime: Engelbert Humperdinck.

The crooner on Elvis Presley at the Hilton Continental, Las Vegas, 1969.
Interview by Benjamin Secher

I've seen many great performers on stage, from Dean Martin to Céline Dion,
but nothing beats the first time I saw Elvis. There was no pomp, no
pyrotechnics, nothing to distract you from the raw talent of the man in the
white jumpsuit.

Engelbert Humperdinck: 'Elvis was electrifying'

He was a very real artist. The way that this guy, who must by now have had a
thousand number ones, sang every number was electrifying. Each rendition
sounded as fresh and new as if he were singing it for the first time.

The highlight, though, was meeting him backstage afterwards. Knowing I
hadn't seen him perform before, he asked what I had thought of the show.
"Elvis," I said, shaking his hand, "you were fine."

Engelbert Humperdinck is touring the UK until March 17. His new album, 'Let
There Be Love' (Universal) is out now.

character having him have a sort of look on the actor hair wise as to what
kids are wearing their hair like today..........
