A
Big Hunk O'Love.
13 years ago the Vicky label released a cd called Sweet Carolina, which contained the Greensboro April 14th 1972 concert. This concert was filmed and recorded for the Elvis On Tour documentary in 1972. Over the years Vicky released also the other 3 concert filmed and recorded for the 1972 documentary, some in fine sound, some in less than fine sound (Welcome To San Antonio). RCA/BMG, for some reason, released nothing from these On Tour recordings, except for some rehearsals held in March 1972.
The last decade the fans were happy with the 4 concerts Vicky had released. The only thing most fans bothered was the less than satisfying sound quality. For years fans begged BMG to release the concerts in superior sound quality, which we knew they had.
Last summer BMG finally obligated to this request by releasing the San Antonio April 18th 1972 concert on their Close Up box set. To be fair, they did a good job on the sound, but as usual they failed to give us, fans, the best possible product. Their mix was flat, lacked power and it felt like Elvis was performing in the next building instead of our own living room.
A while back the new Triangle label announced the release (or better said: the re-release) of the Greensboro concert. They promised us the complete show in far superior sound than any of the Vicky and/or BMG releases. Now this cd has been released. Did they keep their promise??
Design:
While the original Vicky release had a very sober design with only 2 pictures, which weren’t from the actual show anyway; the new Triangle release gives us a breathtaking design. Were getting an 8 page booklet with some fantastic (but well known) shots from the actual Greensboro show, except one which is (as noted on the back of the jewel case) from the November 13th 1972 concert. Elvis is wearing the beautiful Blue Owl Suit and looks absolutely dazzling in it. Complete with some well written liner notes and full musician information this makes the booklet far above average. (much better than for example the great, but again sober Fort Baxter designs)
Sound:
This is the most important thing about this release. Compared to the original Vicky release the sound on this cd is about 7 or 8 times better. The mix is absolutely breathtaking. You have never heard a concert mixed this great. Every instrument is heard and, more importantly, is heard when you need to hear it. For example, Glen Hardin can be heard crystal clear during songs like Until Its Time For You To Go, Bridge Over Troubled Water and A Big Hunk O Love while James subtle guitar licks are a joy to listen to in songs like You Gave Me A Mountain, Polk Salad Annie, Suspicious Minds and Funny How Time Slips Away while his guitar solo’s during songs like See See Rider, Never Been To Spain or Heartbreak Hotel never sounded more aggressive and well balanced as here. Ronnie and Jerry are the driving force on this cd. You have never heard them more prominently and upfront than on this release. The orchestra is just like James guitar licks well balanced and can only be heard when we need to. So here we wont have orchestral overblown versions of songs, here we just have the sound that Elvis wanted us to hear back in 1972; a great driven rock ´n´ roll rhythm section with the orchestra providing the finishing touch when needed.
The concert:
What can be said about this concert that hasn’t been said already? April 1972 was a great period to catch an Elvis Presley show on the road. Elvis has a certain looseness over him that really benefits to his voice, stage power and ultimately the complete show. On the other side spring 1972 captures Elvis during a sad point in his life. His wife had just left him and he couldn’t handle that. When Elvis begun this 15 city tour on April 5th 1972 he looked a bit overweight compared to November 1971. His face looked a little bloated and he seemed to drown an overall sad impression with him.
On the 14th Elvis arrived in Greensboro to play the Greensboro Coliseum that evening. Wearing his Blue Owl Suit Elvis entered the stage that evening to start the show with See See Rider which really rocks and benefits from the mix as the TCB band can be heard extremely well. James guitar solo sounds fantastic and I always preferred the early solo’s compared to the standard latter ones starting from 1973. before Proud Mary Elvis welcomes the audience and proceeds with a great version of Proud Mary before he sings, probably one of the best and strongest versions , Never Been To Spain. Absolutely brilliant! You Gave Me A Mountain and Until Its Time For You To Go are great, strong versions and the great sound lets you almost live these songs instead of only listening to them.
After a fantastic Polk Salad Annie (which highlights the fantastic Jerry Sheff on bass) Elvis lies down for a few seconds (as can be seen inside the booklet) before he continues with the oldies section. Highlights are Hound Dog (with a brilliant James Burton) and great rocking A Big Hunk O Love. Following this last song Elvis performs what a lot of fans still consider the ultimate performance of Bridge Over Troubled Water. No words can describe the feeling Elvis creates with this Simon & Garfunkel classic. After the crowd pleasers (Love Me Tender and Suspicious Minds ~ both are well sung) Elvis introduces the band, short and to the point. As was the case with the documentary Elvis On Tour, the version of An American Trilogy is the absolute highlight. With its soft and tender start graduately building to the climax this song is spine chilling. The flute solo is so clear I will give you goose bumps all over. A standing ovation follows this impressive song.
The next song performed would become a classic. It would become his last really big hit. Burning Love is a tremendous version, even though it was the first one. Neither the band or Elvis has it quite right during the song and the ending is a little sloppy. But for the first time one can really appreciate a live version of this song. The intro is due to almost perfect mixing breathtaking and only now I came to realize that it sounded just as the intro they play during Elvis: The concert. I always founded that it didn’t sound right when I attended The Concert during the last few years, but no live concert cd has been doing justice to this song before I heard this version on the Triangle release. Instead of I Can’t Stop Loving You Elvis decides to do a spontaneous version of Release Me and it’s a nice change. It is a good version, nothing more, nothing less.
Funny How Time Slips Away is next and again the great guitar licks of James Burton can be heard excellent. After this closes the show with the familiar Can’t Help Falling In Love.
Conclusion:
This a great release from the Triangle label. They have set a new standard as far as the sound for live cd´s goes. Much time has been spent to create the best, most accurate sound ever found on a live cd, on bootleg or an official release. Get it when you can as this release will be sold out rather quickly and no doubt that it will become a collectors item over the next few years.
Note:
It seems that a lot of people are having trouble that this is a factory made CDR instead of a real cd. This is in no way a problem as the most important thing is what quality of sound can be found on the cd and not what kind of cd it is!!
Here is some information I got concerning the Triangle Greensboro release :
New software is able to extract certain instruments, than in the mix it is possible to re-assign in certain range ....in the panorama
The source ofcourse was a Mono recording.
It is no Stereo, like gitarre left etc. it is a classical Stereo effect like a Stereo microphone in front of the stage.
This effect is archieved by a stereo reverb and the method desribed above.
But focus on SOUND thats important, not the Stereo discussion.
Point out, that its in Stereo, but an artificial one, like a stereo mic in front of stage.

i see no reason why in this dicussion (Fecc Forum ) two things are always mixed up.
first the source and secondly the mixing result.
its not logical that 16 track source must beat a soundboard mix.
after the source discussion, the engineer gets involved and becomes the next artist. he is
mixing the concert and deals with the quality of the source.
a dream if he is able mixing the concert,so that we feel sitting in front of the stage.
doing a mix is pretty possible with a 2 track source and of course with a 16 track source.
a 16 track source is a gift for stereo production.
but the job on balancing instruments in a mix is another big job.
equalizing is very important,so that for example you do not burry elvis voice in the mix.
we all know pretty bad mixing jobs on 16 track recordings like "as recorded at madison square garden"or "Elvis in Concert" 77 .
these products were realized by proffessionals.
if you compare these cds with greensboro, greensboro sounds miles better.
if you compare greensboro with san antone, the show on green has much more power, instruments are better placed in terms of balance into the mix.elvis voice has
kings power.
san antone has really nice stereo and the overall sound is very good.
the mix itself in terms of balancing is bad. elvis band is always burried,
then in "Love me" you will only hear elvis voice and background vocals.
the drum sound is so flat and boring and is much to low.
when the bass player starts a solo, the enigineer burries his solo.he simply
turns down jerry scheff.
in "love me" , does anybody hear tutt or band?
etc.
simply in the end drive and power are missing.
on geensboro every instrument is heard and is heard when you need to hear it.
on polk salad annie you will be able listening to scheff's fine solo.
elvis voive is always present but the musicians too.
ronnie tutt is a showcase of fascinating drumming.
etc.
all that´s possible.
so it makes no sense judging about a cd or a cdr, only discussing its source.
the result is the only important matter!
i we read all that comments in the net on greensboro, no one can doubt,
that this release is the hottest in the past years on boot.
and i beg your pardon admin, don´t tell us again and again , that all these guys are "The Hyping Queen and her followers".
Note: This posting from Roustabout was removed on Fecc Forum. |
You gotta' give Triangle credit for what they printed on the disc's surface...
"Special homecooked collectors eddition. Special thanks to Nokia for letting us use their cellularphones to achieve this sound quality."
After the critisizm on the Fecc forum and Elvis news.com we gave them over "The Perfect Gift"...we deserved that.
I find it absolutely hillarious!

I loved reading Stefan Kock's review of the Greensboro Concert that was released by Triangle Productions. His review was right on in my book. I've had the cd for a week now and have listened to it about a dozen times it seems and every time I listen to it I love it even more. Its just that darn good! I wish we fans could hear all of Elvis's concerts like this. I've heard complaints from other websites about how this is not a real cd and I say who cares whether it’s a cd or a cdr? The sound is better then anything that BMG has provided us with and there is no difference between a cd and a cdr. As Stefan pointed out the San Antonio show lacks a good sound, its not bad but its not like what Triangle has givin us and they should take a few pointers from Triangle and just what a good sounding show should be like. This cd blows all other Elvis live cd's out of the water as far as I'm concerned and its my number one favorite. The show is excellent and the booklet takes your breath away. Once again thank you Triangle Productions you have made this Elvis fan very happy. Keep up the great work and I look forward to your next release. In closing, Triangle maybe you guys should remaster the Hampton Roads concert from 72. Like this one it would be a winner and a huge seller.

THERE IS NO REAL EVIDENCE.

Michael Lollar is certainly entitled to not like my book on Colonel Tom Parker (THE COLONEL: The Extraordi-nary Story of Colonel Tom Parker)
but his review shows a woeful ignorance of psychology. Parker's Army
records show that he was diagnosed as a psychopath and hospitalized as such. Indeed, he was unstable and capable ofviolent acts, and people I interviewed who worked for him have confirmed his intermittent explosive disorder. Yet Lollar says that reporting that the Colonel might have killed the wife of the greengrocer in his native Holland, as he was accused of doing in an anonymous note sent to a Dutch reporter decades ago, ". . . serves little purpose except as the same kind of bait the carny colonel might have used had he written the same book." I make it clear in the book that there is no real evidence that he did the deed. However, if I had not at least explored the possibility of that event, I would have been negligent as a biographer, since Parker fled Holland around the same time, and lived his life as a man with a secret far greater than just that of illegal residency. Even Parker's own Dutch family acknowledges that it is a possibility, though perhaps occurred as an accident. The bottom line is that whatever Parker's secret was, it was so grave that he refused to take advantage of numerous opportunities to become a U.S. citizen, which meant he never could obtain a passport and could not tour Elvis Presley outside of America. This deprived Elvis of one of his paramount dreams, and also meant a tremendous loss of revenue for him and his estate. In addition, Parker kept Elvis in Hollywood making B-grade films because the Colonel needed to ally himself with people of power. My book shows numerous examples of how the Colonel used Elvis as a human shield to protect himself and his secrets. Quite frankly, I am astonished at Lollar's shallow read and understanding of my biography and how it impacted Elvis's life and career. As for the murder theory, even The New York Times wrote, "The funny thing is, given what is actually well knownabout his activities, this doesn't seem much of a stretch."

CHARLES BRONSON DIED AGE 81.

Today (september 1, 2003) Actor Charles Bronson died at age 81 in Los angeles. Charles was Born as Charles Buchinski, on November 3, 1921 in Ehrenfeld, Pennsylvania. Though the only one of 15 children to finish high school, Bronson worked in the coal mines alongside his brothers to support the family. Born to Lithuanian immigrant parents, he served during World War II as a tailgunner, then used his G.I. Bill to study art in Philadelphia and, intrigued by acting, enrolled at California's Pasadena Playhouse. An instructor there introduced him to director Henry Hathaway, which resulted in his debut film role in You're in the Navy Now. Charles Bronson played together with Elvis in The movie Kid Galahad in 1962.

YET ANOTHER FAKE REVIEW FROM ELVIS NEWS.
A lot has been said in recent months about the fake reviews on ElvisNews. It seems that the one about "In The Eye Of The Storm" is yet another example of that. It's a well-known fact that the people behind ElvisNews hate It's Elvis Time for some reason, and they abuse this review for yet another vendetta. The magazine is mentioned in the review various times, and strongly suggest that IET is behind our product. Well, that's simply not true. It is however true that It's Elvis Time sells our product, but so do many other dealers. In the final paragraph they have yet another swipe at IET, and compare their selling price to that of another magazine ("Not every fanclub is there for the money only")? For God's sake, what does this have to do with a review?
Also, they say that "In The Eye Of The Storm" is not a book. Well, of course it's not, and we never said so. In the PR it was called a booklet. ElvisNews critizes the scans, but does not mention that most of the pics are in great quality. Many of them are unseen, which they at least admit.
But no mention whatsoever is made of all the rare advertisements, articles and magazine covers from the fifties, many of which have never been reprinted since their original publication almost 50 years ago. Very strange. No mention is made either of the rare EP covers, reproduced in beautiful color.
ElvisNews criticizes the design by Geert Hof, saying that "unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a on overall designplan throughout the pages". Well, everything has been done in chronological order, and everybody except ElvisNews have praised Geert's beautiful headings and his original approach.
ElvisNews praises the CD, but it seems that they haven't listened to it, as they write that it contains a.o. "Elvis songs performed by the cover band Number 9". First of all, this CD does not contain any Elvis songs: it contains songs that he is rumoured to have performed during the Sun years, like for instance 'Icecold Love', 'We're Getting Closer To Being Apart' and 'Little Mama'. Secondly, Number Nine is not a cover band, but an exceptional rock 'n' roll band in its own right.
Enough about this so-called "review", which says more about the writers than about the product in question.

LISA MARIE PRESLEY FINALLY FROM THE ROAD.
Hello (Finally) from the road..(sorry it took so damn long)
The tour is almost over and I have to say one of the major highlights of the whole thing was meeting so many of YOU.
Each and every one of you in your own ways moved me or inspired me quite profoundly. You know.. I didn't do this for money (I actually made NO money so far on the tour or with the record) and I'm not doing it for fame (blah blah blah ..we know that I suppose, I've said it). I did it to inspire, reach or move people through music and meeting the people that it's had that effect on most definitely made me feel that every ounce of energy I put into this was more than worth it!
Your words, your mere presence, your stories, gifts and long drives to get to a show, money spent, time off from work or children, ALL of it moved and inspired me right back and I wanted to thank you from every inch of my soul for that.
It truly made me want to keep giving right back and continue to work hard to make that happen.
As far as the recent critics and reviews go!!?? (Forgive me now as the above poetic and heartfelt nature of this letter is about to take a drastic turn as the subject matter has.) lol..
There is a famous and dauntingly true quote which is as follows:
"Those who can, DO and those who can't, CRITICIZE!"
Basically, there are little spiteful larva out there who don't have the ability or creativity or BALLS to create and do something and some other sorry ass soul gave them the authority to then rip apart anyone else who does have (at the very least the balls) and so they live their miserable existence doing so, and there we have in a nutshell, a "CRITIC"...
Although I'll be the first to say that HELL YES I need more time and experience with all of this , I'm certainly no veteran, that is precisely WHY I'm touring in the first place. I've only just started, I don't let them go deep.
I know who and WHAT they are. Anyone who makes money off of ripping apart someone else's creativity is a sorry soul who will in the end live and die a lonely and miserable existence!
HA! Okay .. I'm done with that RANT now (but that was fun). More importantly, I listen to YOU and that's all that matters.
Thanks again for everything, I ADORE YOU!
Love always.....
LMFP:)
PS..Tyler, Luke and my brother are beside themselves that they have some fans out there.. I told Tyler I am going to have to get a less attractive man next time doing security!
Kidding...I wont do that to you ladies:)
And one last thing , I recently discovered the other day a book I've been reading while on tour that you ladies out there who may have a blemished love life might find as amusing as I did, it's called "How To Spot A Bastard By His Star Sign". It's by Adele Lang & Susi Rajah.
Talk to you again soon.

REVIEW NEW BOOK ELVIS: ROCK 'N' NASSAU

Elvis: Rock ´n´ Nassau. This new photo book came out just recently and I couldn’t get my hands fast enough on it in order to see it. I can say whole heartly that I’m not disappointed with it. In fact this is truly a photo book with class.
The book is published by Joe Tunzi and is in corporation with Russ Howe & Tom Salva, two very known names in the Elvis World. The layout is, although beautiful, typical for Tunzi books. Both the front and back cover have a great pic from the June 24th 1973 matinee performance.

THE RETURN OF THE KING: RUBBERNECKIN' WITH ELVIS
By Adam Mico.
*Stop*
Back in 1969, Elvis was in the midst of his big comeback. After years of poorly-received and similar-sounding movie fodder, he cradled R&B, country and pop to recreate himself as a relevant artist. Radio smashes came out full-force with anthemic cuts like "Suspicious Minds," "Kentucky Rain and "In the Ghetto." When originally released, "Rubberneckin'" was only capable of garnering a modest cult following after this tune was buried as a B-side to "Don't Cry Daddy" and used in his embarrassingly-received final film, Change of Habit.
*Look*
"Stop, look and listen, baby… that's my philosophy..."
As a fan, I was always curious to why a track like "Rubberneckin'" was never given its due prestige and released as an A-side single. The original "Rubberneckin'" boasted showstopping proto-funk and supremely soulful background vocals by The Sweet Inspirations. Immediately catchy, this crystalline bubblegum number was a 'should've been' club-stepping epidemic that sadly was given its antidote while still in infancy.
*and*
RCA Records obviously wanted to continue to capitalize on Elvis' regained momentum following the release of Elvis: 30 #1's with Elvis: 2nd to None. For this effort, Paul Oakenfold was enlisted as the captor and modernizing expander of the spirit of "Rubberneckin'" for the new compilation's highly-anticipated single. For those you who don't know Paul Oakenfold from Adam (), his remixing resume includes U2, Happy Mondays, The Cure, The Smashing Pumpkins, Duran Duran, Madonna and New Order. On a global scale, he is arguably the most in-demand DJ/remixer. Unfortunately, after Junkie JXL's nearly blasphemous butchering of Elvis' "Little Less Conversation," my anticipation of hearing Paul's turn on "Rubberneckin'" was tempered.
*Listen*
A few short days ago, I was able to capture an exceptional rendering of the finished single. Unlike Junkie, Oakenfold's mix actually built on the original recording; samba, piccolo with hip-hop inflected drum and bass actually provided a base track with the masterful layering of the original support. Thankfully absent are the collection of second-hand gizmos and the blatant track-chopping that JXL used amateurishly on "A Little Less Conversation." An illuminating Oakenfold trick was his application of panning* on Elvis' vocal track, because it was not overused and it helps divert a listener from the song's weakness, which is moderately repeated and inane lyrics.
*...that's all right with me, baby*
With Elvis' mojo ringin' and the manipulation of a groovy samba track with full-bodied background vocals/grunts, this remix would meet the expectations of Austin Powers himself. "Rubberneckin'" (Paul Oakenfold Remix) is habit forming and its side effects may include convulsions (on the dance floor) and permagrin. On 9/9/03, you can freely listen for your contact buzz when "Rubberneckin'" will be officially released as a single in record stores and radio airwaves.
*Panning is the sound balance shift from one speaker to another.

NEW BOOK COMING IN DECEMBER - ELVIS FASHION: FROM VEGAS TO MEMPHIS.

Following is a press release from Universe Publishing about a great new Elvis book done in collaboration with EPE. Can you tell how excited they are about it?
HE WAS NOTHIN’ BUT A CLOTHES HOUND!
"I would have given anything to design for Elvis..."
— Gianni Versace
To Elvis Presley, clothes were second in importance only to music. An avid collector of garments, accessories, and costumes, many made just for him, Elvis became was as much a fashion icon as a rock ‘n’ roll trendsetter. He loved clothes and had an uncanny eye for what would shine on stage, and maintain his sexy persona off stage. Elvis loved to be part of the process and often conferred with his tailors, costumers, and accessory designers, working his initials into their designs whenever possible! Featured in ELVIS FASHION- From Memphis to Vegas are working sketches of costumes, and comments from favorite designers like Nudie, the Rodeo Tailor, Vegas costumer-extraordinare Bill Belew, 50s Rat-Pack tailor Sy Devore, and the legendary Oscar-winning Edith Head, who designed many of his film wardrobes. Also included is fascinating ephemera like a record of his running tab at a Memphis jeweler, and invoices for clothing described down to the minutest detail: “light-blue double-knit suit w/lattice patterned jacket front in navy blue leather accented w/brass studs…lined in patterned silk.”
Graceland gave author Julie Mundy unprecedented access to the Elvis Presley’s costume archive and allowed her to select an incredible range of Elvis’s famous jumpsuits, leather pants, embroidered and jeweled capes, and accessories from hats to belts to custom boots. Mundy chronicles the development of Elvis’ taste, and his growth into a true fashion icon paralleled by his meteoric rise to stardom. Multitudes of costumes from the Graceland collection were photographed especially for this book, and will be enhanced by archival photos of Elvis wearing them, both on stage and off.
Elvis’s velvety voice, smolderingly good looks, charisma, and personal style all contributed to making him “The King of Rock ’n’ Roll.” Beloved by millions, Elvis is known in every corner of the world and is one of the most important and enduring figures ever in American popular culture.
A comprehensive look at the gorgeous clothes that were so much a part of what made Elvis Elvis is long overdue. Stunningly designed, this book is as tasty a package as Elvis was himself! An absolute must for Elvis Presley fans everywhere.
About the Author
Julie Mundy is a music journalist and the author of The Official Elvis Presley Fan Club Commemorative Album (Virgin, ’97). In 1995 she was commissioned to re-launch The Official Elvis Presley Fan Club Magazine, and Elvis Monthly to be ready for the 20th anniversary of Elvis’ death. Julie Mundy lives in London and is currently working on two book projects, one of which celebrates the 100th anniversary of Las Vegas.

Note : There seems to be some confusion going on since we made this statement.
What does New Remix - New Mix - Remastered mean?
Here are some correct explanations that were made yesterday on different forums :
people, READ and LEARN: technically speaking, a "REMIX" is the process by which an engineer adjusts the recorded parts of a song, often used to achieve a certain sound or to electronically enhance a recording, ie. computer sampling, what not...
A friend of mine who was in Memphis for Elvis week '03, got a chance to hear some samples of the "new" E2 sound and judging by what he said, "crystal clear and punchy", it sounds like they just went back and "REMASTERED" the songs from better source tapes, probably the first generation
All the songs on the 2nd to none will be remastered that is correct
The remix rubberneckin is explained by king creole.
Play the 2cd The Memphis records, than you know what it means!!!
These were all new mixes.
THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW YOUR FACE on the 70's box were a new mix and I thought it was great, it's one of my favorites.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH
MILLIE KIRKHAM
( Bob Hayden Australia )
Before commencing this interview with Millie Kirkham, may I write a few words about this lady who played such a major part in many of Elvis’s early recordings.
Briefly, Millie Kirkham is well known for her backing vocals on many of America’s finest recordings for well over five decades. The names, songs and recording sessions are endless, so in this interview I hope to concentrate on her vocal contributions to the music recorded with Elvis Presley.
Going over all the Presley recordings it is most noticeable that Millie and the Jordanaires contributed enormously with their talents to every Elvis recording session they were involved with.

(Picture owned by Millie Kirkham. Used with her permission July2003.
Please obtain permission before use.)
Millie’s first studio session with Elvis was for the 1957 Christmas album and the very first song was “Blue Christmas”.
After Elvis returned from the army, all the same musical friends got back together again and a number of big hits followed for Elvis. There are too many to mention here but Millie will mention a few during the interview.

BEHIND THE IMAGE:

"Behind The Image" The Book Vol 1.
SETTING A NEW STANDARD IN THE ELVIS WORLD!!!

Dvd: "Behind the Image" Volume 1.
Shops across the street from Graceland are reporting record sales of BEHIND THE IMAGE products.
The new BEHIND THE IMAGE book has been flying off the shelf since they started stocking it after its
release a few moths ago.
The most requested item during Elvis week 2003 was the up-coming BEHIND THE IMAGE VOL. 2 DVD
"Welcome to His World" that will be released in the near future.
Distributors from all over Europe, have been reporting that Behind The Image the book,
is the best selling and most requested photo book of any other released before.
"Behind the Image" products are produced by Bud Glass.
Andylon Lensen from EPGOLD asked Bud to explain the great success of the new DVD and Book:
"We are dedicated to bringing the best possible product to the fans at the lowest possible price.
Compared to the $65. hardback books in the past that are mostly black and white with a small color section,
and the $48.-$55. soft back, black and white books that have been coming out for years,
we are setting a new standard with our products.
Quality hardback books, full color on premium paper, containing never before seen photos..all for only $39.
A book of this quality, with its rare contents could have easily sold for much more.
We do not believe in gouging the fans. Instead of charging the usual inflated price,
we have set a new standard that is not only delivering a better product for a lower price,
but also encouraging others who follow behind us to do the same.
This ultimately benefits everyone as the prices will have to drop in the future to compete with the standard we have set."
Watch EP.GOLD in the near future for the announcement of the long awaited:
Dvd Behind The Image Vol 2. "Welcome To My World" .

And The New Concert Book : "Elvis Born To Rock" .

Andylon thank you for being my loyal friend for many, many years and always "being there" if I needed your support.
EPGold.will be the FIRST to give you the news of their release.

REVIEW NEW RELEASE TRIANGLE GREENSBORO.
By Jörn.

My boy, my boy... I got my cd today...
I was thrilled by listening to the sound-samples that you could download on other sites, but to listen to the CD blows me away.
It starts with Theme 2001 ... I never liked the "fanfare" that much, but on this release it sounds absolutely dramatic and you really have the feeling that something special is coming up.
After that comes the usual See See Rider, but with such unbelievable raw power. Never heard the drumming of Ronnie Tutt this clear and powerful... and Elvis is really into it.
The next one is Proud Mary and it is a very good version - sound is marvelous, but I have to say, that I always liked the original-version from Creedance Clearwater Revival much more than E's version.
The fourth track is the best version of Never Been To Spain I've heard so far. His voice is incredible - and believe me: you can't compare the sound of "Greensboro" and the Vicky release, because Vicky's CD would fail after the first track.
I could go on and on with such incredible tracks like the best live-version of Bridge Over Troubled Water - imo - or the powerful
Polk Salad Annie, but I think everyone knows the concert very well.
The one song that tops them all is the mayestic sounding American Trilogy! In this soundquality it is absolutely hypnotic!
I bought the Vicky release a few years ago and it was always one of my favorites, but I think that I will never hear it again after this release. I know I repeat myself, but you have to listen to this sound and you'll know what I mean.
I for myself found the mix of the fourth disc of Close-Up strange. I expected a sound like 'An afternoon in the garden', but I think the sound isn't that good as it could (should?) have been. Imo the 'Greensboro Concert' is the better concert and this release has - with all respect - the better sound.
Kind regards, Jörn.

Hi Ep.Gold.
I got my CD today and I have to tell everybody: The Sound is outstanding! It´s one of the best live-Cd´s (if not the best!!!) I have ever heard.
But on the other hand it is unbelievable, that BMG is NOT able to offer us such a perfect sound in 2004 and it is a pitty,
that we had to wait more than 30 years to get it!!!.
If you compare this one to the Close-Up sound of CD 4 it seems, that BMG is really far away from modern sound technology.
The Triangle team made an excellent job and this concert/CD cannot sound better than it does.
I´m really thrilled, so clear, so well mixed! It´s like beeing in the concert hall!
On a scale from 1 to 10, I would give it a 11!
