PIC OF THE WEEK.

A picture of Elvis when he was 10 years old. It was taken at the Mississippi-Alabama State Fair & Dairy Show in October 1945 when Elvis sang "Old Shep" & won second prize in the talent show ( he won $5 & free admission to all of the rides that day). This was Elvis' very first public singing appearance & also his first radio performance as WELO radio broadcast live from the fair!! Elvis was entered by his principal, J.D. Cole, from Lawhon Grammer School.

NEW EDITIONS WORLWIDE IN ALL DVD FORMATS RELEASED SOMETIME IN 2004.
Elvis' TV Specials - Elvis ( 1968 ), Aloha from Hawaii ( 1973 ) & Elvis in Concert ( 1977 ).

Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. owns the 1968 TV special Elvis, the 1973 television special Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii, via Satellite and the
1977 television special Elvis in Concert, along with any existing additional footage shot for these shows. There has never been an official video release of the 1977 show. The '68 and Aloha shows have been out on video/DVD. Also out on video/DVD have been the Aloha rehearsal show, entitled The Alternate Aloha Concert, and outtake footage from the '68 TV special, entitled Elvis, One Night with You.

In 2002, EPE's contract with Lightyear Entertainment, the North American distributor for the '68 and Aloha material, ended. These programs are no longer in distribution but for leftover stock in some retail outlets and in the continuous stock maintained by Graceland/EPE for its own merchandising operations. EPE was without an overseas distributor for these programs for some time and opted to cease pursuing one for them. Why are these programs mostly off the market? The reason is very exciting. We are presently working on our dream "ultimate" video/DVD editions of the '68 and Aloha material. The plan is to release these new editions worldwide in all formats sometime in 2004.

MUSICNOW OFFERS ELVIS CHANNEL.
Los Angeles (Reuters)

Online digital music provider MusicNow and music label BMG should have Elvis Presley fans "all shook up" after announcing on Tuesday a newly launched digital music channel, focused solely on the music of the late King of Rock 'n' Roll.

The new channel contains more than 2,000 Presley tracks and follows a MusicNow announcement in July of two channels, one dedicated to Blue Note Records jazz artists and another focused on composer Quincy Jones.

MusicNow launched in March with a subscription service in a magazine-like.
At $9.95 a month, MusicNow customers can stream over 200,000 songs and get conditional downloads available for on-demand play online and offline for the duration of the subscription. The service also offers downloads at 99 cents per song that can be burned to CD or transferred to portable devices. With the new channel, MusicNow subscribers will be able to stream, download and burn Elvis hits to their hard drives. Burning to portable computers is also available at this time at the 99 cent per song fee.

The new Presley channel, which went live on Friday, features hits from the upcoming Oct. 7 release of "Elvis 2nd to None, " a follow-up to last year's hit compilation album "Elvis 30 #1 Hits." The new album will include a never-before-released song recorded by the singer nearly 40 years ago. The song, "I'm a Roustabout," was written for the 1964 Presley film "Roustabout." It was rejected by the film's producers and never used.

The album will also feature a new remix of Presley's 1969 song "Rubberneckin," which is already available on MusicNow but not available in stores. BMG's RCA label last week said it would release the new song in the fall. The announcement was made on the eve of the 26th anniversary of Presley's death on Aug. 16, 1977, at 42.

MusicNow and BMG, a unit of Germany's Bertelsmann AG, said they will also add articles about Elvis and merchandise.
MusicNow is available at  http://www.musicnow.com  and through Charter Microsoft Corp.'s Windows Media Player.

New Release Of Greensboro Concert 1972.

Hi my name is Steve Smith and I'm writing to comment on the new Triangle Production release of Elvis's Greensboro Show in April of 1972. This show is my favorite of all the shows Elvis did in 1972 in my opinion this was the best of the shows he did for the On Tour documentary, anyhow. I have the Vicky release of this show and was very happy with the sound until I got the upgraded version from a friend over sea's. First I was knocked out by the art work and booklet. Triangle Productions did an excellent job. It shows a lean and vibrant Elvis in all his glory. Then I listened to the show and all I can say is WOW!!!!! This blows away the Vicky release. Its like your right there with Elvis on stage that’s how great the sound quality is. This is equal to the RCA releases of the Madison Square Garden shows and the new San Antonio show that is part of the new box set. I want to thank Triangle Productions for what they did on this release and I look forward to more of their releases in the future because if they put out great sounding Elvis shows like this then they will make Elvis fans very happy, I know I'm happy that they released this show like this. Greensboro buries any show from 72 and this new upgraded release only proves it. Great job Triangle you guys are the best.

Hello everybody,

My name is Priscilla and I'm 15 years old. I have been an Elvis fan since I was 12 years of age. It all began when I saw the movie 'King Creole'. Wow! I didn't notice before that Elvis was that cute. He sang wonderfully and his moves were great! I'm actually so much in love with Elvis that I have made an Elvis website with his biography, discography, photos and much more! I also created a messageboard with a few topics about the King. And you can hear me singing, because I love to sing Elvis songs.
Enjoy lookin'around!

Elvis forever,

Elvis and Religion
By John Armistead

The story of the rise of Elvis Presley is well-known. Born in a two-room house in East Tupelo in January 1935 to a mother and father so poor that they would bury his stillborn twin the following day in a cardboard box in the cemetery at Priceville, Presley knew nothing but stinging financial deprivation until, in his late teens, his singing career skyrocketed.

WITHERED JOB FORM BEARS TEXTURE OF ELVIS'S POOR YOUTH.
By Michael Lollar.

As a teenager, Elvis Presley lied about his age when he applied for a job in 1952, leaving behind an application form as yet another facet of Americana.

Presley was 17 when he applied at Marl Dinettes, a South Memphis furniture company where he was hired as a laborer in the "table department."

His application form was kept with other company rec ords until the business was bought out in the 1960s. Accountant Bill Cole was closing out the company books and ran across the application and a W-2 form for the man who, by then, had risen from a $1-an-hour laborer to one of the world's highest-paid entertainers.

Cole, who since has died, kept the forms as "conversation pieces" since they weren't vital to the company closeout, says his daughter, Linda Crain. When he died, he left the Elvis documents to his wife, who died a few years later. Crain, her sister Teresa Truesdale and their brother Larry Cole then became joint owners.

Crain says the family has never attempted to market or display the documents, but always wanted Elvis fans to know about them because of their rarity and because of their small window to Elvis's teenage years.

On the application, Elvis lists his Social Security number (409-52-2002) and his full name, Elvis Aron (the original spelling with one "A") Presley. The form says his family was renting an apartment at 185 Winchester and that he was 18. But Elvis listed his date of birth as Jan. 8, 1934, exactly one year before his actual birth in 1935.

The same document lists Precision Tool Co. as a previous employer (June 3-July 1, 1951) with reason for leaving: "under age." Before that, Elvis had worked at Loew's State Theatre (as an usher) from April 18 to May 28, 1952, he wrote on the form.

A brief description listed his weight (150 pounds), brown hair, blue eyes and education at Humes High School with subjects including "woodshop, Speech, English, History."

Elvis memorabilia consultant John Heath of Marion, Ark., said this week the documents are rare and could become highly sought pieces among collectors. He had not seen the yellowing documents, so was unable to place a value on them.

A former Marl Dinettes employee, Mary Lou McGee, 83, says she and her late husband, Otis McGee, worked at the company at the same time as Elvis. "Everybody who worked in there was friends. It wasn't hard to get acquainted." She says her husband first noticed that Elvis brought odd lunches to work, "like boiled eggs and JELL-O."

McGee says she began to make sandwiches for Elvis when she made lunches for herself and her husband. "I would make fried chicken sandwiches or tomato, lettuce and bacon sandwiches for him," she says.

Elvis: In The Eye Of The Storm Booklet & CD

For those of you that dig Elvis' best years, there's a great new booklet & CD titled "Elvis: In The Eye Of The Storm". It focuses on the years 1953 - 1956, and it contains dozens of newspaper & magazine clippings from those years, the majority of which has never been reproduced since their original publication. This includes reviews, articles, magazine covers and advertisements ("A Red Hot Star is born on RCA Victor Records!").

The booklet also contains revealing interviews with Elvis' musicians Scotty Moore and D.J. Fontana, memories of fans who saw Elvis on stage in 1954 - '55, and rare EP covers from Europe. The icing on the cake are many rare Elvis pics, both color and b&w. Some of the highlights are a section on Audubon Drive (which contains many unpublished private pics), and a couple of color pics from the Elvis & Ed Sullivan press-conference.

The enclosed CD contains several rare interviews from 1955 and '56, including, for the first time, the complete unedited 'TV Guide' interview from August 1956 - 28+ minutes!! This complete interview is fascinating to listen to, and it's quite clear that Elvis is getting increasingly annoyed with the questions!

Also included are 10 Elvis mystery tracks from the Sun years, including 'Little Mama', 'Satisfied', 'We're Getting Closer To Being Apart', 'Uncle Pen' and 'Icecold Love'. These tracks were recorded by Number Nine from London, who are regarded by many as the best "early Elvis" sounding band. This great band has toured with Scotty Moore and D.J. Fontana on several occasions. All tracks were recorded on original Valve equipment from the fifties, and the band spent a great deal of effort trying to figure out how Elvis would have performed these titles. The result is a very authentic "Elvis 1955" sound - this is really as close as it gets!

Both the booklet and the CD have been designed by Geert Hof, who is known by many fans because of his terrific designs and his Solid Gold Elvis website. "Elvis: In The Eye Of The Storm" takes you back to those exciting early years when Elvis was still called the "Hillbilly Cat", and it really exudes the fun and excitement of those days. A great addition to your collection!

THE MASTERS BEHIND THE MASTERS.

Just doing their thing, songwriters Mike Stoller and Jerry Leiber helped give birth to rock and roll when they wrote Hound Dog in 1952
By Michael Lollar

Their list of hits sounds like the very history of rock and roll almost from the moment of its birth, with classic songs recorded by everybody from Elvis Presley to the Drifters to John Lennon.

Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller were like the rap artists of the early '50s, pushing buttons, inviting scorn and testing the limits, as rock roared into being from its roots as blues and rhythm and blues. They were writing music for black artists, when one of their songs, Hound Dog, was heard by a young Elvis Presley. His adaptation turned it into a No. 1 hit and helped aim Leiber and Stoller toward the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

ARCHIVES MAY GO ON TOUR NEXT YEAR
By Bill Ellis.

The Elvis archives may hit the road next year as a touring exhibit.

With the impeded travel plans and sluggish economy of a post-9/11 world, the idea is to take Elvis to people who can't get to Memphis for whatever reason, says Jack Soden, CEO of Elvis Presley Enterprises.

"We've had over 13 million visitors to Graceland," he says. "We can take exhibits to the world and embrace another 15-20 million people. Those are the things we need to begin to do with the archives."

The first tour could come as early as next year, though its theme and itinerary are still in the planning stages. Rest assured, it will be on a grand scale.

"For a long time, the archives were the one department that spent a lot of money and didn't really create a revenue," says archives manager Angie Marchese. "But if we didn't preserve things, they wouldn't be here, and then we wouldn't have what we have on display now."

With each passing year, the archives also play a larger role in the Elvis legacy. The significance isn't lost on its principal archivist, who came up through the Graceland ranks.

Says Marchese: "Since Elvis isn't here anymore, and Vernon's not here, and Colonel (Tom) Parker's passed away, the only thing we have left to tell the story is our archives."

PRESLEY SONG DICOVERED!
BMG Press release

Found Track, I’m A Roustabout, To Be Added To BMG/RCA Records Release ELVIS 2ND TO NONE Due Out On October 7th.
New York, NY (August 15, 2003) - Nearly 26 years after the death of Elvis Presley, his longtime musical home, BMG/RCA, has unearthed a never-before-heard, entirely new song - I’m A Roustabout. This unprecedented discovery will be added to BMG/RCA’s upcoming release ELVIS 2ND TO NONE due out on October 7th.

I’m A Roustabout was originally commissioned and written for the film Roustabout (1964) by longtime Presley collaborators Winfield Scott and Otis Blackwell, but was never used. Rather, a completely different song written by the team Giant/Baum/Kaye was recorded for the film and eventually became the title song for both the movie and the # 1 album. An off hand remark from songwriter Winfield Scott to a journalist in New Jersey in 2003, started the ball rolling on discovering this lost track. When the same journalist interviewed BMG/RCA’s producer/researcher Ernst Mikael Jørgensen he mentioned that he’d talked to a songwriter who had an unreleased Elvis song. As soon as the journalist mentioned Winfield’s name, Jørgensen instantly recognized he was referring to the long lost Roustabout, originally rejected by movie producer Hal Wallis. Winfield Scott had found the original acetate in the basement of his New Jersey home, and was quite happy to play it over the phone to Jørgensen and subsequently grant BMG/RCA access to the recording.

Now, BMG/RCA will add I’m A Roustabout to ELVIS 2ND TO NONE, the highly anticipated new Presley release. ELVIS 2ND TO NONE is a compilation of #1 singles, fan favorites and career milestones representing a broader range of Elvis’ talents and featuring multiple musical genres including R & B, rock ‘n roll, pop, country, dance and rockabilly. The album features a Rubberneckin’ produced by DJ Paul Oakenfold – one of the most acclaimed remixers in music history, and has been mixed and mastered from the original master tapes for optimum sound quality.

I’m A Roustabout is an up-tempo, tongue-in-cheek, R&B style pop song and has all the sparkle of a 1964 hit single and it remains a great track to this day. With its inclusion on ELVIS 2ND TO NONE, I’m A Roustabout will finally have a chance to become the hit it could have been back in 1964.

“I’m A Roustabout is truly one of the most incredible discoveries of modern music,” said Joe DiMuro, Executive Vice President, BMG Strategic Marketing Group. “Rarely do we find any unreleased material for an artist of Elvis’s caliber, and to have a complete track is even more unique. We are thrilled to be able to share this gift with music lovers throughout the world through ELVIS 2ND TO NONE.”

“It’s very gratifying for me to finally have this song be released,” said Winfield Scott. “I hope that it brings Elvis fans as much joy as it did for me and Otis when we originally wrote it. Enjoy!”

ELVIS 2ND TO NONE is the follow up to the highly successful 2002 release, ELV1S 30 #1 HITS, which reached No. 1 in 26 territories worldwide, including the U.S. where it was a chart topper for three weeks. Over nine million albums were sold worldwide with 3.5 million in the U.S. Among the hits was the No. 1 remix of A Little Less Conversation produced by DJ JXL, which went to No. 1 in 26 countries including the US and Great Britain. That feat pushed Elvis past the Beatles for most No. 1 hits in the UK. Following the album’s release, a television special, Elvis Lives aired on NBC Thanksgiving night and the special claimed the all important 18-34 demographic for the hour. Furthermore, the ELV1S 30 #1 HITS DVD audio debuted at No. 1 in the sales charts upon its release.

Q & A With Winfield Scott About I’m a Roustabout

Following is the Q & A with Winfield Scott BMG/RCA has distributed to the media:

How did you start in the business?

I started in a vocal group called The Cues and we worked for Ahmet Ertegun on some sessions with LaVern Baker.

What was the first successful song you wrote?

I wrote Tweedle Dee for LaVern. I presented parts of it to Ertegun during a rehearsal, and he played it for LaVern. She liked it and I brought in the whole song the next day. (After finishing writing it that night.) It was a huge success, and much to my surprise it turned out that a very young 19-year-old Elvis liked the song and performed it live on his shows. Unfortunately he never made a studio version of it.

How did you end up writing for Elvis?

Songwriter Otis Blackwell was a good friend of mine and convinced me to start writing for pop artists as opposed to just R&B performers. Otis had written several songs for Elvis including classics like Don’t Be Cruel and All Shook Up, and he had learned just how much more rewarding it was to write for a star like Elvis.

What were the songs you wrote for Elvis?

In early 1962 we struck gold and had three songs recorded in just a few weeks. Return To Sender and We’re Comin’ In Loaded for the film Girls! Girls! Girls! and Easy Question for the Pot Luck album. We wrote One Broken Heart For Sale which became the hit single for the next movie, and Please Don’t Drag That String Around which ended up on the b-side of (You’re The) Devil In Disguise. A few years later I wrote Long Legged Girl with Leslie McFarland and in 1970 Elvis recorded Stranger In The Crowd which I had written on my own.

Q: What is the biggest success of them all?

As I understand it Return To Sender has sold about 14 million copies in the U.S. alone.

Q: What’s the story behind Roustabout?

When Elvis made a movie, many writers were asked to submit songs for his films. Elvis would choose the ones he liked and then record them. Otis and I wrote a song for the 1964 movie Roustabout and Elvis recorded it. Movie producer Hal Wallis listened to the song but he objected to the lyrics because they had Elvis saying he wanted to tell his boss to “stick it in his ear.” Mr. Wallis demanded that a new song called Roustabout be commissioned from other writers so our version never made it into the movie.

Q: So what happened to the song?

I had a copy of it on acetate and forgot all about it. This happened almost 40 years ago.

Q: When did you realize that you had something unique?

Well, I didn’t really think about it all these years. Then recently during an interview with a New Jersey newspaper reporter, I mentioned having a copy of a song I wrote that Elvis recorded for a movie but was never used. A few days later I got a call from BMG’s Elvis Presley producer Ernst Mikael Jørgensen, who had done an interview with the same newspaper. Through his conversation with the reporter, he realized that the song I had made reference to had to be my version of Roustabout. He came to my home and listened to my record, and subsequently we made a deal. The original story he and I were interviewed for was never printed and the journalist left the paper.

Q: How do you feel about the song getting released so many years later on the ELVIS 2ND TO NONE CD?

I’m surprised, happy and curious to see what kind of impact it will have.

Q: How would you describe the song?

It’s an up tempo, fun, rock ‘n roll song.

Never-Heard Elvis Song Set for Release Oct. 7
Fri August 15, 2003 10:19 AM ET

By Steve Gorman
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - More than a quarter-century after his death, Elvis Presley has something new to get his fans all shook up.

A never-before-released song recorded by Presley nearly 40 years ago was recently unearthed and will be issued this fall by RCA Records as part of a new collection of favorites from the King of Rock 'n' Roll, the label said on Friday.

The announcement comes on the eve of the 26th anniversary of Presley's death, on Aug. 16, 1977, at age 42.

The song, "I'm a Roustabout," originally was written for the 1964 Presley film "Roustabout," co-starring Barbara Stanwyck, and was even recorded by Presley, but the song was rejected by producers and never used.

A completely different tune ultimately became the title song for both the movie "Roustabout" and the No. 1 album of the same name.

Meanwhile, an acetate recording of the original "I'm a Roustabout" sat for decades, undiscovered in the private collection of songwriter Winfield Scott, who composed it with longtime partner Otis Blackwell.

Neither of the men ever met Presley. Blackwell, who died last year, also shared credits on such Presley hits as "All Shook Up" and "Don't Be Cruel," as well as "Great Balls of Fire" for Jerry Lee Lewis.

Scott, now in his 80s, said in a telephone interview with Reuters that he happened across the unmarked recording of "I'm a Roustabout" in the basement of his New Jersey home several years ago but didn't think much of it.

"I know it sounds strange, but I had actually forgotten about it. It was just laying around, along with a whole slew of other demos and a couple hundred songs," he said. "At the time, I said, 'Well gee, I wonder why (Presley) never released it?' And then I just put it back with the rest of the demos until later on."

The disc remained stashed away until Scott mentioned the song years later to a reporter. That reporter in turn mentioned it in an interview with RCA producer-researcher Ernst Jorgensen, who later contacted Scott, listened to the disc and arranged for the label to obtain the recording.

The song will now be included in an upcoming RCA release, "Elvis 2nd to None," due out on Oct. 7. It's a follow-up to last year's compilation album "ELV1S 30 #1 Hits," which topped the sales charts in the United States and 26 other countries and sold 9 million copies worldwide.

Among the hits from that album was the No. 1 dance remix of the previously obscure 1968 Presley tune, "A Little Less Conversation."

The latest Elvis set will feature additional No. 1 hits from the King and lesser-known classics such as his first recorded single, "That's All Right," and a remixed version of 1969 song "Rubberneckin," given a contemporary treatment by leading DJ Paul Oakenfold.

Hoping to repeat the success of last year's "Little Less Conversation" remix, which climbed to No. 1 on both sides of the Atlantic, "Rubberneckin" will be released to radio Aug. 25 and as a commercial single on Sept. 9.

RCA is a unit of Bertelsmann AG's BMG music group.

AFTER DELAY BLACKOUT NEW YORK NOW I'M A ROUSTABOUT AIRED ON NBC'S TODAY SHOW.

After a delay of plus minus an hour because of a blackout in New York, the NBC's Today show finally were able to play a segment of the new song : I''m A Roustabout" .

BLACKOUT IN NEW YORK : BROADCASTING I'M A ROUSTABOUT AT NBC'S TODAY SHOW DELAYED.

The Worldwide introduction on the new unreleased discovered song : "I'm A Roustabout" , for RCA/BMG to promote this as a premiere on the NBC's Today show has been delayed.

The blackout in New York where the NBC is broadcasting their television programs is without electricity.

Yet, it has been confirmed by the Mayor that there is no time-schedule to assure the New Yorkers when the power will be back.

RCA/BMG The Netherlands:
In The Netherlands RCA/BMG decided today to continue their promotion on I''m A Roustabout" for radio and television and we can expect this tomorrow to be aired on radio and/or television.

I'M A ROUSTABOUT : ELVIS FANS SUPRISED BY BMG.

Many readers of this up-to-date website were really surprised, because after reading the latest exclusive chat with Ernst two days ago on EPGold.

Despite a remark on some other Elvis-websites quote "A remark from Ernst Jorgensen that he NEVER said the 2nd version of "Roustabout would be added to the 2nd To None Album" , is totally changing the meaning of what was said by Ernst Jorgensen.

Ernst did NOT say the song " I'm A Roustabout " , would not be on 2nd To None in his interview two days ago.

He said: It had not been officially CONFIRMED by him or RCA/BMG.

You have to look at what he says very carefully and not alter it in the slightest.

That is why the suprise : "I'm A roustabout" , is kept quite by Ernst Jorgensen and RCA/BMG till today for the Elvis fans.

DUTCH ( FINGERPRINT )  PROMO  I'M A ROUSTABOUT TODAY MADE BY BMG-NETHERLANDS.

The Dutch fingerprint promo  "I''m A Roustabout" ,  is released today at the Dutch BMG headquarters.
The CD includes a legal 'if you loose - we kick your ass' side-letter.

Tomorrow or Saturday this song will be promoted for radio and television in Holland.
Only a few copies are made "Only for the BMG staff promotors" .

A fingerprint promo has clearly printed a  name of the RCA/BMG promoter.

Note : And personally they bring the promo to the radio and television stations and hand it over to the Dj to air this song "I''m A Roustabout" .
At the same time the person is checking that it won't be copied and after it has been played , the Dj. hands it over to the promoter and locks it back into their vaults.
This is the safest way to protect a Hot -item that will be promoted , if the strategy is Worldwide for RCA/BMG.

I'M A ROUSTABOUT AND THE FECC & ELVIS NEWS.COM WEB-SITES.

Several weeks ago we explained the situation that was going on with the two Elvis Websites For Elvis Cd Collectors ( Fecc ) and Elvis News.Com.
We were hoping to be left alone and wouldn't be bothered by these sites in the future.

Even two friends of ours and the Fecc made a move to explain to Willem Kaauw to stop this childish"kindergarten" game and it would be better to compromise and stop the insults, the bashing and throwing dirt on Ep.Gold and Andylon, the Columnist and all the Volunteers.

In the past they published in public on their site that the people behind Ep.Gold were all "Trash"" or "Garbage" , now if they started throwing dirt like that on their own forum in public it means they insult ALL the people that collaberate with Ep.Gold.
And they do not stand by their OWN rules made up by them if their members post a message.

Because this kind of insults, bashing, is a rule that is forbidden by the editors themselfs.

For a long, long time the Fecc site and the Elvis News.com played the game by "Stealing" our exclusive news on Ep.Gold,
if they really want nothing to do with Ep.Gold, they should also stay away from our Exclusive news... but no....this they like to steal !!!!

And when the members on their own site reffers to this is coming from Ep.Gold ; Suddenly they start throwing dirt, making insults and start to bashing again on Ep.Gold.
Why do they not leave our news alone and than their would have been no excuse for them to react the way they do.
It seems they have become more aggresive and negative that it will only damage their own name even more.

Ep.Gold has what so ever no problems with any other sites than Fecc and Elvis News.
And we do not mind if we have exclusive news that other sites copy this, as long they credit the news as the original source and we''d be happy that this news is shared by Elvis Fans all over the world.

When websites normally honours the credit of the news, where it's original was published there is NEVER a problem, except the Fecc and Elvis News seems to have a problem with this, by keep on playing this game and not respect the code that has been made on all the websites.

The posting that Patrick Hughes made on the For Elvis Cd Collectors was, that he mentioned he saw this news on Gold site, meaning Ep.Gold.
But Fecc censors all exclusive news posting by readers of Fecc mentioned if it's coming from Ep.Gold .

They are NOT allowed to mention Ep.Gold. than it turns automaticcally in National enquier.
Also another person mentioned my name Andylon Lensen and it turned automatically in Marillion the loner.

Here some facts taken from their own forum Fecc :

ColinB, I know you are being sarcastic in your statement, but if the general public never knew about this version, how can they be waiting for it? Anyways, looking forward to it. Censorship is terrible in this day and age, and I hope all Elvis sites can come to comprimise one day.

Tomorrow morning early the NBC Today will introduce and play for the 1st time ever the unreleased version of Otis Blackwell and Winfield Scott : "I'm A Roustabout" , recorded on March 3 1964.

This version was discovered from an old acetate and RCA/BMG went through different technical processes to finally release this as a up to date digitally recording on the 2nd To None Album.

Ofcourse they are able to release this song "I'm A Roustabout", on the 2nd To None Album... why?

This is the news published on Elvis News.Com. Yesterday.

I'm A Roustabout

Despite a remark from Ernst Jorgensen that he never said the second version of "Roustabout" would be added to the "Elvis 2nd To None" compilation a posting on the FECC message board says it will be included.

The posting:
"It has been confirmed that "I'm A Roustabout" will be the historic inclusion on "2nd To None". BMG will announce it tomorrow morning between 8am and 9am on NBC Today show. This song is the 2nd version of the song "Roustabout". Why BMG calls it "I'm A Roustabout" is anyone’s guess, but looking forward to hearing it."

On the official "2nd To None" website this news was added: "Tune in to NBC's Today Show on Friday, August 15th from 8-9AM (check your local listings) where a historic segment will air about a special song being planned for inclusion on the ELVIS 2ND TO NONE CD. Don't miss it!"

After the announcement tomorrow we'll know if this is true.

ERNST JORGENSEN: WE ARE WORKING NOW ON A 2ND REMIX AS A FOLLOWING UP FOR RUBBERNECKIN CD.

Just to let the exclusive news know for our Ep.Gold readers that Ernst Jorgensen informed me that they working hard on a 2nd remix as a following up for the new Remix release from Dj Paul Oakenfokd "RubberNeckin" .

Will that be "Let yourself go" ? Ernst.
Well Andylon, I know that this is also your favorite just as mine, but at the same time we have more songs we are working on.

Well at least we know that "RubberNeckin" , as a remix will be on the " 2nd To None" CD and we are informed that the 20 songs are confirmed on the website : " 2nd To None" .

That might change Andylon!!!

What do you mean that the list of twenty songs might be changed because the 2nd remix comes instead of one or two songs now that has been confirmed?

Yes, First of all our strategy is that after the " RubberNeckin" - Remix leaves international the billboards, we have a 2nd remix single to promote the album " 2nd To None" thru the year of 2004.

Now that's what I call a good strategy, because last year we all were screaming for a following up on a remix of the "A Little Less Coversation" .

What about the new song " Roustabout 2" , IMO , I personally can NOT imagine that this song will be added on the " 2nd To None" album, because how is it possible?
I mean, It has never been a hit or a favorite Worldwide while noone ever heard this song, or even worse it has never been released?

Who told you that it will be on this album Andylon, not me nor RCA, did you announcened it?

No, it was announced on another website.

There you go, well I agree with you completely Andylon, and we never said this.

Anyway what about the Video - clip" RubberNeckin" , their supposed to be snippets of Change Of Habit in this new video to promote, I heard there were big problems, because EPE owns the image and they wanted for the rights a lot of money, I mean a lot of money, Ernst.

I know they are still negociating on this with EPE but as far as I know the decision will be officially announced at August 15.

And I was way far ahead with telling the Elvis Fans about the '61 Hawaiian Benefit show.... Oh that was okay ,Andylon normally I am not allowed to tell the strategy what is coming the following year, but sometimes exceptions might be made I guess..... lol.
But we will discuss this later and tell the fans more about this, okay.

Fine with me Ernst.
Talk to you soon.....

BOOK ROCK N NASSAU A GREAT RELEASE.

Gloria Stanziola is a free-lance writer who is currently working on a non-fiction account of the turn of the century New York murder.

One only needs to open the book to have thirty years vanish and find  themselves once again in the awesome presence of The King.
Looking through the book,  treasuring it page by page, you have to appreciate the personal feel of looking  at pictures never seen before.
The fact that some of the photographs are  slightly out of focus only adds to the books tremendous appeal. It is like looking at a family album. The pictures you treasure the most are never  the ones taken by a professional photographer, but rather the ones taken  through the eyes of one looking at her subject with love and admiration.
Love is evident in every page. It is there in the text, the dedications and every photograph.
Bravo to all involved, you have captured a joyful feeling of  true adoration and respect for Elvis and the immeasurable contribution he made  to the world.

BMG/RCA Records to Release Remix of Elvis Presley's Rubberneckin' On Radio August 25 and In Stores September 9
Remixed by Renowned Hitmaker Paul Oakenfold, Single Will be Featured on ELVIS 2ND TO NONE Available on October 7

NEW YORK, Aug. 11 -- On the heels of last year's smash No. 1 hit, the JXL remix of Elvis Presley's "A Little Less Conversation," BMG/RCA is set to release a remix of Presley's Rubberneckin' as a commercial single on September 9 and to radio August 25. The single has been remixed by DJ and producer Paul Oakenfold -- one of the most acclaimed remixers in the music business -- and will appear on ELVIS 2ND TO NONE, a follow-up to last year's highly successful "ELV1S 30 #1 HITS." This newest compilation, scheduled for release on October 7, will also include five additional Presley #1 singles, fan favorites and career milestones.

"Last year's overwhelming success of A Little Less Conversation underscored the appeal of Elvis' music to a contemporary audience and we are thrilled to continue this momentum with the new remix of Rubberneckin' " said Joe DiMuro, Executive Vice President, BMG Strategic Marketing Group. "We anticipate it will achieve similar success, under the unique talents of Paul Oakenfold, and serve as an ideal precursor to the launch of ELVIS 2ND TO NONE."

"My hope is that the remix of Rubberneckin' will introduce Elvis' music to millions of new, young listeners and help create a new generation of fans," said Paul Oakenfold. "I was drawn to this project primarily due to the influence of my father who was a dedicated Elvis fan and, with his passing, it is a tribute to him."

Paul Oakenfold is often referred to as the world's premier DJ and is one of the most respected remixers in the business, having worked with U2, the Rolling Stones, Snoop Dogg, Smashing Pumpkins and Bjork. His musical tastes span a wide range of genres, including soul, jazz and disco. Oakenfold was one of the founders of the acid house scene that swept England in the late '80s and was a leading proponent of hip-hop.

In addition to the August 25 radio release, a music video for the single will premier in mid-August. The September 9 release on CD and vinyl will include a radio edit version, 12" extended version and the original. It kicks off the newest Elvis campaign, culminating in the October 7 release of ELVIS 2ND TO NONE, which will be distinctly different and a complement to last year's "ELV1S 30 #1 HITS." This newest compilation presents a broader range of Presley's talents and incorporates multiple musical genres including R & B, rock 'n roll, pop, country, dance and rockabilly.

All 30 tracks on ELVIS 2ND TO NONE have been mixed and mastered from the original master tapes for optimum sound quality. This is the same process that drew across-the-board raves from critics, music aficionados and the original band members themselves for the "30 #1 HITS" production. This year's album will include such classics as "That's All Right," "Viva Las Vegas," "Blue Suede Shoes," "I Want You, I Need You I Love You," "Always on My Mind," and "Don't Cry Daddy." Oakenfold's remix of "Rubberneckin' " is sure to be well received among today's generation of music fans and further demonstrates the legacy of Presley's music.

ARE THE ELVIS BOOTS COMING TO AN END?
An interview with the producer from the Triangle label.

Q: Well, is it really true that it has become so difficult to make new imports for the Elvis fans at the moment?
A: Oh yes. Since most of the Eastern European countries have been approved as an official member of the ECC, it is officially enforced by the ECC laws that they agree to the same laws as the other European countries, since the 1st of July.

Q: I understand but do you mean that most boots were manufactured over there?
A: Yes, most of the boots were manufactured in Eastern - European countries. Before this new situation, pressing plants didn’t care what they were pressing. At this time they are not able to press anything that’s illegal, because they are being controlled very strictly. This simply means that they refuse to press bootlegs anymore!

Q: So, what does this mean for the Elvis fans in the future, is this the end of the bootlegs?
A: Well Andylon, you’ll have to consider a few things here.
First of all you must know that Elvis bootlegs are printed in a very small quantity of 1000 copies max. Compared to the Top-40 boots that are pressed in quantities of 10.000s this is nothing. So, pressing plants don’t really care for Elvis boots.

Q: Oops, that surprises me. Why don’t you press more copies?
A: The problem is, that many fans burn their own copies at home. I can understand that, but it causes some problems aswell. At a certain point it’s not interesting anymore to release anything. Don’t think we all drive big cars and wear expensive jewelry!! To give you an idea: a live recording/soundboard will cost you about 5000 euros, professional studio-remastering about 200 euros an hour. Artwork has to be made and printed. Finally you’ll have to pay for the cd itself.
At 1000 copies, you’ll understand that there’s not much left to get yourself a car.

Q: Does this mean we can’t expect anymore new Elvis Imports to be released in the future?
A: NO !! As long as we can afford it, we’ll go on giving the fans what they want!
The biggest problem at the time is, finding a new way to press CD’s. We thought we had found a new source to manufacture our new Triangle release of The Greensboro CD, but again we have stumbled upon severe problems.
It is clear to us that it has become impossible to issue the new Triangle CD as a pressed CD at this moment. Because of the request we were getting for this release, we decided to release a professional made CDR. Even here we faced a lot of problems to get this CDR finished. A positive thing for the fans is that they will save about 5 euros on this release compared to a pressed CD. Greensboro is in a soundquality you NEVER heard before, because we could use the original tape. It will also include an 8 page full color booklet.

Q: Does this mean Triangle will go on releasing CDR’s?
A: No, we maybe found a new pressing plant, which means that the next Triangle could already be a pressed CD.

Q: What will the next Triangle release be? I’ve heard some rumors ……..
A: I’ve heard those rumors too, funny how much some people know !! We haven’t decided what to release next. It was funny to see the “artwork” for “The Final Performance” on the web. As we have a superb stereo recording of the complete concert, we were just playing around to find a good cover. One of these covers probably leaked out and was published on the net. If we will ever release it, it will not be before the end of 2004. We have other priorities. The next Triangle could also contain some unreleased studio stuff. Just wait and see Andylon.

Q: Okay, thanks for taking your time to explain these things to the fans.
A: My pleasure Andylon. I hope it made some things clear.

I'm surprised to read Triangle has other prioriteis than releasing the final
performance in excellent stereo. I'm dying for a copy of the final
performance in excellent stereo. I can't think of anything more interesting
except for some complete new 50's Rock 'n' Roll songs. What to do till the
end of 2004?

PRESS RELEASE:
LAUNCH OF 2003-04 ONLINE SYMPOSIUM ON ELVIS ARON PRESLEY.

Coinciding with Elvis Week 2003, The Center for Studies in Popular Culture is proud to announce the formal launch of the 2003-04 Online Symposium on Elvis Aron Presley.
The Symposium web site is: www.geocities.com/elvissymposium

There are 22 papers presently published in the Symposium. Up to four more will be published later this week.
The contributors represent 8 countries on 4 continents and many of their names are well known in the worldwide Elvis community.

A strength of the Symposium is that it presents an exciting and varied cross-section of research, views and criticism by a range of dissimilar contributors: fans, authors and academics.
The breadth of diverse issues raised and author perspectives expressed in the papers offers stimulating reading and should elicit widespread debate among critics, the media and fans.

The Symposium is sponsored by The Center for Studies in Popular Culture, a non-profit, independent body established to investigate and report on the relationship between popular culture and society.
Comments on the Symposium papers are welcomed and can be made to: elvissymposium@yahoo.com

Elvis Has Left The Building

Out now is the new Rock Legends CD "Elvis Has Left The Building". As the title indicates, this beautifully packaged two-paneled deluxe digipack contains original radio- and television broadcasts from August 16th and 17th, 1977, reporting the death of Elvis Presley. On this 78+ minute release, you can follow the news as it happened first the unconfirmed rumours, then the confirmation from the hospital and Elvis' friends, the speculations about the cause of death, tributes from around the world, reactions from grieving fans, and a real "heartbreaker" the first interview with Elvis' father Vernon Presley at ca. 16.30pm on August 16th, only a few hours after Elvis' body had been found. On this release you can listen tothis unique interview in unedited form for the very first time.

Another highlight is a long excerpt from the "Elvis What Happened" press-conference (much more than what is usually used in the various documentaries), where Sonny West discusses the controversial book. We have also included a very special "bonustrack" an unreleased recording of Elvis backstage with several Japanese fans, recorded just minutes before the Midnight Show on August 9th, 1973. As private backstage recordings with Elvis are extremely rare, this is an amazing scoop. It's an interesting insight into the man to hear how he interacted with his fans he's very courteous and repeatedly thanks them for the gifts that they had brought along to Las Vegas for him. You even get an insight into the Colonel, as you can hear him shouting in the background repeatedly! A fascinating piece of "Presleyana". All recordings were digitally remastered with great care by Otto Meszaros, whose work on the Czech releases has been praised by many fans.

"Elvis Has Left The Building" is packaged very tastefully, with rare pics of Elvis, newspaper clippings from around the world reporting his death, photos from the funeral, and even the original White House statement about Elvis' death. This breathtaking deluxe digipack has to be seen to be believed, as it's a good example of superior Scandinavian artwork (designer Kenneth Dokkeberg). The theme behind this release is of course a sad one, but on the other hand it also shows how much Elvis was loved and respected all over the globe - a remarkable tribute to the greatest entertainer of the twentieth century. "Elvis Has Left The Building" is an essential and historic release that is a must for the collection of every Elvis fan.
