Since Elvis News.Com made a (fake) review on the Audience Cdr release of the new Triangle-label and published this on their web-site a couple of days ago , Quote: "The sound on The Triangle ( Audience) release Is like listening through a phone and their Design of the Cover looks like Home Coocking"" .

Many ElvisFans who collect Audience recordings from our king became confused if this review written, really was a true statement of ElvisNews.Com or... not, since a lot of fans were not able to purchase this item yet, or indeed after their review on Triangle- label on ElvisNews.Com the Elvis Fans just have to forget about it.

Now we do not want to tell you if this is good or if this Triangle release really sounds bad as "Listening through a phone" .
We let the die hard collectors on Audience releases judge by themselfs.

Triangle supplied us a sampler , so the EPGold readers are able to judge for themselfs and let the Elvis Fans decide wether it is true or not that ElvisNews.Com never writes fake reviews.

To whom it may concern: Really enjoyed the song from the Triangle cd. Sounded much better than I expected. Certainly not like the sound was coming from a telephone. I and other Elvis fans just want everyone to get along. I really enjoy all of the Elvis sites very much and reflect upon what Elvis once said, "there is room for everybody". Hi, Ep.Gold, Just would like the Ep.Gold readers to update with the following message: My posting was removed. (after a while on Elvis News.Com) A few hours later they have shut down their forum, because their own members posted messages with their opinion, but were also deleted because the opinion from their own members, didn't match with theirs (Elvis News Editors opinion) Because of this situation Mohammed could not handle all the postings coming in, he decided to shut down completely their forum as of today. As a huge Elvis fan, I can appreciate every Elvis release that's released with the intention to please other Elvis fans.  I HATE audience recordings that are released with poor artwork and with the audio running on a wrong speed. Common, how hard is it to adjust the speed properly before you release it? Those low-budget releases are obviously not released by fans, and only to make some cash....  The Perfect Gift however is a CDR. But don't worry, it's not a home-made CDR, but a fabric-made. The toplevel is silver and has a the title pressed on top. Only the other side shows that we're dealing with a CDR. The artwork is stunning. Lots of 'official' (read: pressed) import labels can take an example from it. Since the artwork is pressed (and not made by a deskjet printer or something), the pictures are sharp and bright. No difference with any 'official' import release.  So far so good... how about the sound? Is it really 'telephone-quality'? I don't think so. I have both titles, so I will listen to the two to hear if the soundquality really differs much. Well, both titles are really good (for an audience recording). But they used a different style of remastering. The Lonestar release is more dynamic, but has lots of noise and the sound is sometimes too 'sharp'. The Triangle version is less dynamic, but don't has noise. The advantage of the Triangle is that you get used to the 'less-dynamic' sound, while the noise on the LoneStar release keeps 'bothering'. You can boost up the Triangle release by adding some more bass (or use the 'loudness' button on your receiver)....  So when I have to advise one, I'd go for the Triangle. They did a good job for their first release, and made the product as proffesional as possible. From artwork to sound, it's great (and nowhere near the 'telephone quality'). I think that if this release would have been released as a pressed CD, everybody would call this one as the winner.  I'd rather have a proffesional made CDR, than a lousy 'official' (pressed) CD (not referring to The Man In White though.) My oppinion and thought's !  If ? elvisnews.com think that they are (always !) right about their reviews why do they not put an mp3 on their site and put 2 of the same songs from the 2 cd's on it and let the people decide what the best sound would be ! I am not attacking elvisnews.com , but it is always them who come with the compares and reviews when EPGOLD is making an announcement of "new" import releases ! I still like the people behind elvisnews.com but they started a kind of war (also with me) with there review on the cd's : The Eagle has landed vs A capital performance ! When i read this review, my brain (the little i have) begins to think and i I thought straight away that this is just a attack from them to EPGOLD ! WHY ? I know, they know, every one knows, that there was a third cd. release of this same concert : Trying to get to you !!!!!!!! They never mentioned this one in any of their reviews ! Strange isn't it ? For me, the strangest thing is and would be is that every time EPGOLD announced a cd that is coming out on 2 different labels , elvisnews.com is there with a (so called) review's and EPGOLD is ALWAY'S wrong ! Where are the reviews from the Blue Hawaii sessions vol.1 - 2 and 3 ? (As they claimed to be fabric made cdr's !) Again a false satement from Elvis News, they did this on purpose to put that label down, they weren't cd's they were real cd's. Elvis News never lie? There are many , many more import cd's that where pressed by different labels ! But no , they only made (only if you agree that one person write about 2 cd's) reviews on cd's when it concerns EPGOLD !  This kind of attacking must be stopped ! Response to article on EPGOLD Well it looks and sounds like Andylon has spelt out some home truths to people in the Elvis world. It is a sad day when "What one does for pleasure" can turn out to be a  "Behind the scenes (Images) free for all". IN REGARDS WEBSITES TALKING ABOUT BOOTLEG CD'S.  I believe that bootlegs (import cds for the people who are not up to date on the terminology ) should not be advertised  on any website and the problem would not exist. I thing that if the websites did not print any details  about an ILLEGAL or PIRATE cd then all this would not fester and become a problem as it seems to be to this very day. BUT we know that will never happen and so we must put up with it? ACTION BY...Wouldn't it be nice if BMG/RCA and the authorities around the world all got together and started visiting these websites, and enquiring where they are getting this material from to advertise? BUT,  we would only be fooling ourselves as the worldwide online auction sites can not even stop people from selling bootleg or pirate cds. I know it is hard when all the ELVIS sites are really trying to be the first with news about Elvis and his recordings, but surely it does not have to come down to a slanging match about what is about to be released and so on! One can only hope that things can become much more friendly in the Elvis world and not try and be the NO 1 site and all that rubbish. The more websites that do good things for Elvis and his music the better. There will always be a site that will get something before another site, but that's life, plain and simple. The internet can be a dangerous instrument if not properly used, and we must all think of others before we start writing things that may cause undue harm to others. HOW GREAT THOU ART SESSION IMPORT CD'S FROM LMP ( LOVELY MUSIC PRODUCTION ) VERSUS 2001 LABEL.
LMP IS ALL FAKE STEREO?

These are the exact words that people CLAIMED , who are behind the 2001 production.
Well, at least the 2001 hasn't delivered us fake mono.
I do NOT understand why the HGTA sess from LMP getting only bad reviews.
Hey, it isn't out yet.
They didn't even say what the exact content will be.
If it is all stereo, or a part of it.. they NEVER reacted on all the remarks people said, wrote, etcetera... most of them are all lies,lies,lies.

Done by the BIASED sites / forums and friends of them.
Especially on the Fecc and ElvisNews board they have been bashing, throwing dirt, made all kinds of bad comments: "it is nothing, fake stereo, we all have this, Masters are the same as the one released on BMG/RCA, stolen tapes from 2001" and on and on....

All this is NOT true.
The tapes that LMP has are certainly from another source.
The LMP hasn't even announeced what will be the tracking list for the 4 cd-set yet.

All I can tell you I HEARD the many long lost tapes from Joan Deary, amongst them The How Great Thou Art Masters done by her and they are stunning on the sound quality.
Way different than the one we know from the Original BMG/RCA releases.
Even up untill today.... this is something we have never heard before.
Not on RCA not on any boots.
So, why don't we give the LMP a change and just wait and drink coffee.
And if you don't like it, don't buy it, what's the problem with that?

There are so many boots coming out up untill today, but it seems the only label that gets all the bashing and dirt is the LMP and TRIANGLE guys.
Why not all the other labels... explain this?

Because it's not their product, they have no distribution on the LMP / TRIANGLE label, they have no control, they make make no dollars on it.
Hope everyone understands a little bit what is really going on in the kindergarten Elvis import World.

Oh, and the same goes for legal situations like: products on books, DVD's, Organizing Elvis Meetings, Fanclub Magazines, Elvis-shops, Websites where the webmasters get free stuff on Elvis, so they write biased and if they are not friends with them they bash it. and on and on and on.

This is the real Elvis World.... why don't the normal Elvis fans wake up?

Most of the time it is all about abusive Power, wanting control on others, money, and even blackmail is used on some people in the Elvis world.

I am almost certained A LOT FROM THE OTHER TWO SITES visited Ep.Gold... go back on our Hot E news a month ago or two or four or eight months and you see every Import release by every label announeced on Ep.Gold.

If it is Madison, Lonestar,2001,Fort Baxter, Union, Famous Groove UK, LMP erecetera.
So we are NOT biased.
We do not ban, bash, write bad or lie on any release of these labels.
Ep.Gold only gives information that it's out, nothing more nothing less.

I have been an active Elvis Fan since 1961 and left the inside world on import more than 2 years ago.
Everyone knows I have been betrayed and busted. 
I do not have to tell you who's responsible for this, because SOME seem to know more than me, who is who, what is doing this and that,etcetera in the Import world.

Now I know all the producers in the E world and have contact with everyone who are still active.

I said I've been there.... that means I am NOT involved anymore in the Import world.
But I do have contact with all of them.
And it is all about dollars on most ( not all, some are real Elvis Fans )

I write this for normal Elvis Fans just hoping they would open their eyes what is really going on in the Elvis World.

Many Elvis Fans know only know ONE side of the story, but not the other side?
Because a coin has two sides, think about that seriously.
But let me introduce myself my name is Andylon Lensen and I am NOT the producer of Triangle, I am NOT the Producer of LMP, I am NOT the producer of Union label, I am NOT the producer of Famous Groove UK.
And yet, on many messageboards they have claimed I was and of course they bashed,dirt throwing on ALL those labels that released new CD's.

And who do you think who did that?
They abused the "OTHER" Message Boards... and even a lot of our columnists got threatened, bashed, blackmailed , getting dirty private e-mails accusing them they must be the producer also or at least be involved.
While they are only columnists from Ep.Gold.

Why don't they give those new import labels I just mentioned a chance to releae a new product?
Why does those excisting labels do NOT want them to release a new product?
Why do they use the internet to throw dirt on those labels even when it is NOT even released?

A good example... remember the big war that was going on when DAE introduced themselfS with their new label?
Oh, my God... you should have read the negative, bashing reviews about the DAE in many fanclub magazines ( there was not really internet at that time) Even In Elvis Time years ago they did only said NOT to buy this product from DAE.... but they even insulted the DAE guys of being crowds a big insult.... meaning the 2nd worldwar....just like Berlosconi just did last week
These are the SAME labels ( but now under a new jacket ) that throwed dirt on the DAE guys.
And ten years later this is still going on.
I want to let the normal Elvis- fans to know ( because they are not as stupid as some producers think ) to STOP this kindergarten game.

Now, did I introduce my self well enough?

From an unsave place on the internet .... at least I have the guts to tell the thruth how it really is in this sick Import world.
And I know, I can exspect a lot of private dirty e-mails in the coming days.
But they can not "Break'' me more as they did... because I survived... that's why I started my own website.... and oh, how they went Crazy... because now there was suddenly a site that does NOT play their game as they were always used to play.. as they did in the past ...having complete control on any Import release... bash it if it not theirs... write bad reviews... and promote their own stuff into heaven.

Ep. Gold does NOT play this game.... we give every new import a change to announce, promote meaning :

Publish all the imports and legal products on Ep.Gold...but also the ones that are coming from the other side.
Ep.Gold gives information for the ElvisFans Worldwide... we do not promote the producers like some other sites do.
Because they have no control on these labels, they aren't involved, , they make no money on these people, who are the producers of other labels.

Now I even had to remove my Guestbook a few weeks ago, I do not have to tell you what kind of messages they left on there.
If you get a slap in the face, many people can exspect to get a slap back.
Action gives reaction, 
I say this kindergarten has to STOP

The How Great Thou Art Sessions Hi Andylon, first of all thank your for your hard but fair comments! There are a lot of facts that you have told us and I don't want to reply to everything that you have named, but I think that everyone who's interested in this subject should read your lines very carefully, 'cause they contain a lot of truth. You are absolutely right that especially within the last weeks and month are lot of rumors and a lot of troubles were to be "heard" in various messageboards. It was every everything, but not funny. It is true that we Elvis Club Berlin is indepented and we do not have to promote other's products or opinions. We are happy about this and will stick to our independece for future times. And of course we welcome every and each website that is acting the same way. I do not know exactly, who is realated to whom, but I think you are right, that EpGold (http://www.epgold.com) is doing such a job. You have a lot of very interesting articles on your side written by many very interesting people from the "Elvis world", you have reports refering to lot of interesting itmes, nice and rare pictures, always the latest news, exciting interviews with for example Ernst Mikael Jørgensen and yes, you always name all the new records, officials and in-officials.  Be sure that we welcome this kind of information. I Anyway, your comments, Andylon, have given us a very good impression about you and your way of thinking. And again I can only repeat, that you feel comfortable and welcomed when visiting this site and posting at the messageboard. On the other hand I do not feel when I have to read, that you are afraid to receive "a lot of private dirty e-mails in the coming days". . And I will appeal to everyone not to do so. We are all fans of our man and it is more than unfair to act like this and put others down, only becaus of their different opinions. . I guess that we do not share that opinion, that everything that comes from special labels like LMP, Triangle and others is bad. The other way round is true. LMP has brought us "A Capital Performance" and the general opinion is, that this is a very good and tasteful release. But maybe I'm a too exact and too careful. But this is not so important, to put a release down. LMP came up with a first nice release and has made themselves a good name. I do believe that most of the people are very happy with this release and looking forward to the release of the HGTA Sessions. Furthermore I have heard "The Perfect Gift" from Triangle (I won this release in a quiz recently) and it sounds better than everything that was released before from this special show) I hope you see that we are NOT interested to put anyone down. HOW GREAT THOU ART 2001 IMPORT LABEL RELEASED?

I personally hate to speculate, but I must admit there is some strange things going on.
Now , I have many friends all over the world and many of them stated I heard the 2001 or I have it, it just came in.
But ALL the people when I really ,really, asked them... but do you have the official CD?
Uhhh, no, I downloaded, well, no someone gave me a copy.
And when someone said I have it and I asked how does the print of the cd looks like and is it a black and white or color print on the cd.... they got tongtied.

So, I really don't know what is going on, I can not tell you.
And the same goes for me, a friend of mine gave me a copy he had downloaded.
And it's been out now officialy 13 days?

I just spoke to the Producer from the new Triangle - label.
Here is his statement:

No, Andylon we have about more than a dozen Imports to release within 2 years from now and this one is not on the list as a priority for the coming two years. If we will ever release this Final Performance 2 CD.
We have great releases in our vaults to suprise the Elvis fans than this one being mentioned on the Club Berlin Forum.

How come they showed the covers?

Well, I guess we should have been more careful by showing it to someone, and in the in the future, so one way or another this just came on the Internet.

But I like the Art work, not Home Coocking ....don't you think so? lol. Same goes for the Greensboro incredible flyer what an Artwork and Design, just love it.
But who am I to say..... I leave it up to the specialists who doing this as a dailey job, I guess.

Well. I don't know, there seems to be specialists out there on the internet "Who know it all", and already critizised our first release on this, although I know they never made one design up up to now for themselfs, funny ha.
Like watching footbal and they are the ones standing on the side line, telling and shouting what the pro- football players should do.

Anyway, thanks for the information and I know the Triangle label makes incredible Designs, I have seen enough.
But mind you, they told me already I know nothing, so I just stay in the kitchen and do my own home cookin' makin' Pizza. lol...... so don't take my advice, Guys.

Don's new album: We're Gonna Rock! 

Born and raised in Texas, Don Wilson grew up listening to the country-western music so inherent to the Lone Star State. It was Don’s late father who introduced him to rockabilly and Elvis Presley - literally, in the case of the King. In 1970, when Don was just 9-years-old, his father took him to the Houston Astrodome, where he met Elvis and saw him in concert. Several years later, following the untimely deaths of his parents and sister in a train accident, Don was actually befriended by Presley, who remains Don’s biggest musical influence.

It’s only fitting that Memphis played a pivotal role in Wilson’s m usical journey. As the host of the weekly "Mystery Train" radio show on WEVL FM 90 from 1992 to 1995, Wilson interviewed former Presley associates and provided a forum for rockabilly discs and artists including another major influence Johnny Cash. It was during a Billy Lee Riley interview that Wilson was invited to sing with him on "My Gal’s Alright," recorded at the legendary Sun Studio.

From Memphis, Wilson moved on to Hollywood, becoming a production consultant for "The Definitive Elvis" DVD series. It was while arranging and conducting interviews for the 16-hour series (listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the "longest documentary" ever produced) that Wilson became friendly with rockabilly’s renowned performer Glen Glenn. In addition to producing this debut album, Glenn assembled its esteemed musicians. He also joins Wilson on his classic, "One Cup of Coffee," while Billy Swan teams for Wilson’s rendition of his hit song, "I Can Help." Elaine Ballace and Alan Clark also join Wilson on "She’s Not There," which Don penned with Alan.

We get a lot of complaints from our readers, about the biased/fake reviews and false rumours that are published on their website. Be it on legal Elvis products or on import releases.

It saddens us to report they have lost a lot of credibility and reliability in the Elvis-World.
Many Elvis Fans around the World are pleading for a long, long time that something has to be done about this.

Now, we think that you’re all mature enough to find out what’s going on yourself, so we don’t want to point out everything. So let’s just pick the latest review, that caused a lot of confusion amongst our readers.

We personally favor version … uhhh, well, maybe they just want to bash Triangle and push Lone Star ??? Could it be ?? NOOOOO, it couldn’t.

We really wonder, if the person who wrote this (fake?) review thinks that the Elvis Fans believe such nonsense. Do they think Elvis Fans can not think for themselves, they can not make up their own minds about these kind of reviews?

Furthermore, it’s a shame that the reviewer didn’t sign his “work of art”, but again, that’s their normal business with these kind of reviews. Maybe he just wants to hide himself, because he knows he makes himself ridiculous.

Fortunately, there are some Elvis-sites (like Club Berlin), who are known for being unbiased, who’ve build themselves a worldwide reputation of high standard reviews on any releases legal or import. 

Right now there’s a discussion going on, on the Berlin Forum, about this same review by ElvisNews. (it’s even in English, because of the many reactions)

I wonder why the following reaction was removed from elvisnew.com, it was related to the article and was not written in capitols.. quote: Jeannet wrote on July 08, 2003: What a nonsense review. Statement ElvisNews.Com I just read their statement on their site. Cool written,but did they write this stament about someone else's site? Because if they were defeding themselfs with this statement it doesn' t match their profile at all in reality. What a bumch of hypocrites ,they just denied everything. While in fact it is the opposite. Same goes for their writing on this statement, you read this and think these are sophysticated,social, intelligent,respectful persons, but if you know them in person ( and at a lot do in this Elvis world ) Their behaviour as a personality is the opposite. Also, readers are aware that in the past and for instance yesterday, the news on epgold from Ernst was copied on elvis news and again on fecc.site with the ernst news about his new book and sun cd. And they always mention the source Elvis news??? While it's ep.gold bringing this news on the internet, how unfair. Hi Andylon, This does not surprise me at all. The arrogance and dishonesty of ElvisNews has annoyed me for quite a while, which they are well aware of. We all have friends in the Elvis world that we like more than others, but in the reviews of ElvisNews you can clearly see who their friends are - and you can see exactly who they consider as "enemies". While their friends can get away with releasing the worst crap imaginable, those who are not considered as friends are criticized harshly and unfairly, regardless of the quality of the product. Even if they have lie to do so, i.e. calling IN DREAMS OF YESTERDAY an "audience recording"! The only way that you can get some nice words from them is by sending them a lot of "freebies". This is already an inside joke by many dealers in the Elvis world. ElvisNews is run by Lex Raaphorst, who is known by many as an arrogant "know-it-all". They say that small dogs always feel the need to have a bigger mouth than the normal-sized ones (an inferiority complex?)... well, Lex is a good example of that. Fortunately, people are starting to notice. I know a lot of dealers, fanclubs and websites that are tired of ElvisNews. It's about time that somebody started a truly objective Elvis news-site, (Like Ep.Gold ) with all the latest news, reviews, etc. done by an unbiased team - one that does not suffer from the "freebie syndrome". New board of directors at the EPG

At the general meeting of the Elvis-Presley-Gesellschaft (Association) (EPG) on July 1st, 2003 in Braunfels, a new board was elected. The attendees entitled to vote, voted Helmut Radermacher as the new chairman. Radermacher, who is a founder member of the EPG and well-known as an Elvis expert from press, radio and television, succeeds the long-time EGP head Peter Kranzler. 

Peter Beines was voted as new vice-chairman, henceforth Michael Schulz will act as the managing director. Likewise new to the board were voted Horst Ortner (treasurer) and Sören Szameitat (spokesman). 

The newly-elected board takes over the official functions at January 1st, 2004.

Helmut Radermacher and his team set themselves the following goals:

- Modernization and improvement of the club magazine “Graceland”

- Recovery, respectively re-attracting of good authors and committed colleagues

- Diversified meetings with an entertaining program

- Intensive collaboration and cooperation with other Elvis Clubs at home and abroad

- Improvement of the EPG internet site

The newly elected board would like to thank the previous two chairmen Peter Kranzler and Bernhard Seibel and appreciates their merits for the Elvis-Presley-Gesellschaft.

That's where my book is all about.

No, this time it will be my book and ofcourse there are so many Elvis Fans and friends that helped me for a long time to make this book really happen including you, Andylon.
There are so many story's, anecdotes, local magazines / journal reviews unknown , or rare /unpublished pictures we have rarely or never seen before, that's what will be all in the book and thanks to the help of all those Elvis Fans and friends, I am able to issue this book next year around the same time to celebrate this 50th Annversary

My real name is Lodewijk Rijff, I am the (elder) brother of Ger Rijff, probably the best know Elvis fan and connaisseur in Holland.
Even the BBC .UK. calls him when they need advice on Elvis.
So I changed my name - for writing - to Lody Rycker.
Too many Rijffs on the payroll was never any good.

Anyway, for 25 years I have been working for the Dutch Veronica Magazine, a tv/lifestyle magazine for a young audience.
Also the biggest selling magazine in Holland with one million plus copies sold every week.

I wrote a lot of stories about Elvis and visited Graceland - thanks to Veronica - and interviewed Priscilla Presley (3 times), even though the information she gave was slightly disappointing.

God, how she hates his memory.
I remember shortly before she wrote her infamous Elvis and Me book, she told an American journalist that is was not going to be a white wash. What a joke, the book was a total white wash on her own roll in the failed marriage. She was just too damn jealous that he might marry Ann-Margaret. That was the only reason she ever married him.

And the name of course which she kept for her conveniece, that at least she admitted.
I do not dislike her, she is a good business lady, much better than Colonel Parker, but the book was a total lie.

I've been visiting this website Ep.Gold for sometime now and thoroughly enjoyed it: Good writers,exceptional indepth - information, and alway's up to date with their Elvis News.
So I responded to the invitation for volunteer - Columnist, because I consider it a privilege and pleasure to be a part of such a great International website as EPGold.com

I was quite disappointed that Ep.Gold decided to post the link to the celebrity rants website, a sad attempt to embarrass Elvis and make him look bad with the animated graphics they use. Don't you think we take enough abuse from the outside media that we dont need to advertise it among us the fans? I have the recording which that "rant" is on, its sad to listen to and in an appropriate context would be easierto take. Unfortunately, that site you linked is just out to be cheesy, mean and embarrasing. As well, they dont even get the facts right concerning the context. I just talked to Ernst Jorgensen on the latest official statement from yesterday by BMG/RCA on the 2nd to none album CD.

Well, Ernst finally we we have some more information on the album, but what bothers me the most is... that first of all, it did NOT announce the complete tracklisting and the interpretation was only made that the remix single from Paul Oakenfold will be added on the album - CD 2nd To None.?

But why does it not specific tell us : RubberNeckin' will be the next remix cd - single?
Well it did , on another statement from BMG but... but what Ernst?

You mean they still have not decided this for a 100 % , as you told me two weeks ago that they still waiting that if someone comes along with another remix from "Let yourself go", for example and they think this is even more commercial to release this as the next remix CD - single?

Well, RubberNeckin will be released on the 2nd To None Album that is certained and up untill now this is our priority as the next remix - single, but that is why the complete traclisting is not decided yet.

That means we might have two remixes on the 2nd To None Album, Ernst?
Yes, everything is still open for us and this is the reason why we can not make a 100% statement.

And what about the 3 next FTD CD - Special Editions to be released at Christmas, will one of them will be for 100 % the Viva Las Vegas Sessions?
Yes, this will be released and on the other two film releases we have not decided yet.

ELVIS 2ND TO NONE will present a broader range of Elvis’ talents and incorporate a multiple of musical genres including R & B, rock ‘n' roll, pop, country, dance and rockabilly.

All 30 tracks on ELVIS 2ND TO NONE have been mixed and mastered from the original master tapes for optimum sound quality. This is the same process that drew across-the-board raves from critics, music aficionados and the original band members themselves for the 30 #1 HITS production. This year’s album will include such classics as That’s All Right, Viva Las Vegas, Blue Suede Shoes, I Want You, I Need You I Love You, Always on My Mind and Don’t Cry Daddy. Oakenfold’s remix of Rubberneckin’ is sure to be well received among today’s generation of music fans and further demonstrates the legacy of Presley’s music.

Certainly the success of the 30 #1 HITS proved that Elvis is 2ND TO NONE as a music and entertainment legend. The album reached No. 1 in 26 territories worldwide, including the U.S. where it was a chart topper for three weeks. Over 9 million albums were sold worldwide with 3.5 million in the U.S. Among the hits was the No. 1 remix of A Little Less Conversation” produced by DJ JXL which went to No. 1 in 26 countries including the US and Great Britain. That feat pushed Elvis past the Beatles for most No. 1 hits in the UK. Following the album’s release, a television special, Elvis Lives aired on NBC Thanksgiving night and the special claimed the all important 18-34 demographic for the hour. The retrospective on Elvis examined his legacy today and included covers performed by Norah Jones, No Doubt, Dave Matthews and Chris Isaak with LeAnn Rimes. Furthermore, the ELV1S 30 #1 HITS DVD audio debuted at No. 1 in the sales charts upon its release.

BMG HOPES PUBLIC STILL LOVES ELVIS TENDER

NEW YORK — Bertelsmann's music arm, BMG, is about to try to give a dead act, in this case Elvis Presley, a whole new career. On Oct. 7 it will try to build on last year's successful ELV1S: 30 #1 Hits with the release of a follow-up CD: Elvis: 2nd to None.

While the song list for the new record is still being set, it will include five No. 1 singles not on last year's collection (including Viva Las Vegas and Blue Suede Shoes), favorites determined from postings at fan Web sites (I Want You, I Need You, I Love You and Always on My Mind), and seminal tracks (That's All Right).

BMG will try to rope in more young fans with a remix of Rubberneckin' by DJ Paul Oakenfold, who has worked with U2, INXS and Simply Red. 

The CD will be part of a series of albums with sonically refurbished Presley oldies that the privately held German media giant plans to turn out annually — maybe even more often for the next three to five years, says BMG Strategic Marketing Group Executive Vice President Joe DiMuro. "No one's had a career like Elvis' that spanned from 1954 to 1977." 

He's already considering albums of Elvis' Christmas and gospel songs. Plans for next year might focus on it being the 50th anniversary of Elvis' recording debut. And 2006 is the 50th anniversary of his TV-fueled breakout from regional star to national superstar.

For this year, the BMG hype machine is planning pervasive TV ads, billboards and online marketing. And it is helping with an Elvis documentary to be broadcast on NBC. 

Under consideration for the holidays this year are three DVDs, which might include a new version of Elvis' 1968 NBC appearance commonly known as his "Comeback Special" and his 1973 Aloha from Hawaii worldwide televised concert from Hawaii. And Bertelsmann's Random House will publish an Elvis coffee-table book. The King died in 1977.

Plans to keep Elvis rocking are "very, very well thought out," says Elvis Presley Enterprises CEO Jack Soden. "The success of 30 # 1 Hits has created a hunger for more."

That's certainly the case at BMG, which would love to breathe new life into Elvis' work.

ELV1S 30 #1 Hits spent three weeks at the top of the U.S. charts after release last September. It generated $140 million last year from worldwide sales of nearly 10 million albums.

Since the production costs were paid off long ago, the biggest expenses for the new releases are re-engineering and marketing, leaving BMG with a profit margin north of 30%.

The King's return on sales is "the highest of anyone in our group," DiMuro says.

Those results — plus successes by hitmakers including Avril Lavigne and Pink — helped BMG make a $135 million profit in 2002 with 10% of the world market vs. a loss with 8.2% of the market in 2001, Britain's Music & Copyright reported this month.

Even DiMuro doesn't expect to repeat last year's Elvis numbers. But he projects the second shot will generate as much as $55 million by selling up to 6 million units, including more than 2 million in the USA.

And he says the techniques being used to revive Elvis' oldies might also be used to jolt others in the BMG vaults, including Jefferson Airplane, John Denver, Hall & Oates, Lou Reed and Dolly Parton.

Sandi Pichon is working on a book titled "Raised On Rock". She is a fan who met Elvis lots of times and the book details the parallels of her life with Elvis' life, the concerts and Vegas shows she attended, becoming friends with the Memphis Mafia, and how Elvis changed as he became ill. The songs he sang, the clothes he wore, his hysterical sense of humor and the heartbreak of his death. The book will contain 40 pages of unpublished photo's, both concerts and candids, from Sandi, Dorothy Campbell, Keith Alverson, George Hill and Joyce Biddie Hulsey. A few photos have been published on websites.
The foreword was written by Kathy Westmoreland. She is currently looking for a publisher through her agent, so there is no publicationdate yet.

ELVIS MUSICAL ANNOUNCED

A new stage musical based Elvis' hit film Jailhouse Rock has been announced.

The show is set to open in London's West End before the end of the year and on New York's Broadway next year. It will be based on Presley's 1957 movie and feature songs from the era.

The practice of building a musical around well-loved songs has proved to be a huge moneyspinner for the stage.

Nostalgia fans and lovers of kitsch have made Mamma Mia! - featuring the music of Abba - one of the biggest hits in London.

Its success has helped theatre producer Sir Cameron Mackintosh to invest £35 million in revamping his theatres.

The songs of Queen and Madness already have formed the basis for two other stage hits, while a musical based on Rod Stewart songs, Tonight's The Night, launches later this year.

Jailhouse Rock is being brought to the stage by writer Alan Janes and director Rob Bettinson, whose first collaboration, Buddy, has been running for 14 years around the world.

The musical follows a young man who is sent to prison where he discovers a love of R&B and gospel music, setting him on the path to a singing career. But he discovers he is not ready for the corruption that money and fame can bring with it.

Bettinson said: "Although based on the film, the musical will tell a much bigger story."

Other websites claim that this 3 volumes Blue Hawaii will be released the end of the week 26 beginning week 27, 2003.

Ep.Gold announeced four weeks ago that this three volumes, were released and not as CDR's but as real import CD's.
And that the quality of sound has improved, if you compare them to the older releases on CD. 
But NOT superior.

The Blue Hawaii Volume 1 -3 ( recorded : March 21 - March 23 ,1961 ) are available for more than a month now.
