Elvis .. At The Forum.

Finally after a few technical problems ... ELVIS .. AT THE FORUM (GRACELAND RECORDS CD GR 7403-2). The unreleased complete afternoon show May 11th 1974 in Los Angeles.

This is the follow up to LIVE IN LA by Follow That Dream. It makes the 1974 Forum performances a complete set This is the better of the two shows given that day.

Only the segment "You can have her" has been used by FTD since they didn't have the concert on Soundboard, otherwise they certainly would have used the complete afternoon show.

I offer, straight from the original tape this show, (of which FTD has used a x generation copy for their "You can have her" segment), the complete show . This mean's for the die-hard fans really everything is there!!!

The recording has been digitally transferred to a24 Bit / 96 khz (in normal language high end quality) to get the best possible sound from this 33 year old tape.

The full 64 minutes Elvis experience. Also a deluxe 20 page booklet in full color with every photo available of the afternoon show and professional and historical liner notes Over 35 photo's with absolute rare ones inbetween.

The sound is excellent for an audience. Only at the beginning there are some imperfections but the sound is by far superior to what has been partially released (this includes FTD).

This is a truly historical release and for the first time the complete show in the best sound available!

WANNABES BATTLE IT OUT.

POP tribute acts including Elvis and Robbie Williams wannabes are to battle it out in a new BBC reality show.

The One and Only — from Big Brother maker Endemol — will be shown on Saturday nights.

And all the competing impressionists will live together in a house.

An insider said: “The aim is to find Britain’s best tribute act. There are hundreds of people out there who think
they’ve got what it takes — and some of them are extremely good.

“You see Robbie Williams and Elvis lookalikes everywhere. This show will give them a platform to showcase their
acts.”

The hopefuls may also be asked to show their versatility by taking off a variety of stars.

Graham Norton is expected to front the new show.

Saxophone Player Boots Randolph In Hospital.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Boots Randolph, who put the saxophone in the Nashville Sound music, is hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday in Nashville.and possibly in a coma.

Channel 4 is told he may have suffered a cerebral hemorrhage.

Skyline Medical Center said Randolph is in serious condition and in the critical care unit.

Officials at Skyline Medical Center said Randolph's family had asked that no other information be released about him other than to ask for prayers.

The 80-year-old Randolph is best known for his 1963 hit "Yakety Sax," which became the theme song for the TV show "The Benny Hill Show" more than two decades after the tune was released.

He had been a top Nashville session musician, playing with dozens of recording artists, including Elvis Presley.

Randolph performed regularly in Nashville nightclubs for 30 years until the mid-1990s.

BOOTS RANDOLPH.

Besides the massive hit “Yakety Sax” and subsequent chart hits like “Honey in the Horn,” “The Shadow of Your Smile,” numerous contributions to Elvis Presley soundtrack LPs and 50 albums under his own name, Randolph is well aware that there’s one segment that doesn’t hold him in high.

“I loved working with all the great musicians and singers, people like Elvis Presley, Brenda Lee, Roy Orbison, Chet Atkins, Floyd Cramer and many others,” Randolph said.

Ray Barracks Open To The Public.

For years, there have been rumours about plans to tear down the army base Ray Barracks in Germany. Visitors may remember that “filming or pictures” were strictly forbidden. Elvis fans were not welcome – at all. But times do change. For the first time in years, the Barracks will be open to the public… with a 4 week Elvis expo.

There’s no charge, and as a bonus on weekends, a few ‘small’ events are scheduled at the former army base: music nights and get-togethers with Harley and Caddillac clubs, a Jazz and Oldie evening, a Vespa reunion and more.

The tour includes the famous barbershop, the chapel and the NCO Club where the German press conference was held. Open to visitors from the 15th of August until mid September.

'Elvis Linda and Me' Out In The US.

The book "Elvis, Linda and Me.Collector's Edition" by Jeanne LeMay Dumas is now available in the Us. Containing 70 color photographs, including never-before-seen photos of the upstairs at Graceland, and a preface by Linda Thompson, this is one of the most unusual and private books on Elvis this Summer.

In "Elvis, Linda and Me," Jeanne Dumas reveals memories of her time with Elvis and Linda during the mid-1970s. Linda and Jeanne became best friends when they were both contestants at the 1972 Miss USA Pageant, and were living together in Memphis when Linda first met Elvis Presley. Jeanne recounts the night Linda met Elvis to their breakup just months before his death.

During that time, Jeanne toured the country with Elvis, worked as one of his secretaries in the office behind Graceland, and even had sleepovers at Graceland with Linda. During these cherished years, Jeanne took pictures of Graceland-most of which have never been made public until now (including Elvis's bedroom).

Vinnie Jones Re-news Wedding Vows "Elvis" Style.

Ex-footballer/actor Vinnie Jones renewed his wedding vows to his wife of 13 years Tanya in an Elvis Presley style ceremony.

Vinnie, famous for his scary and aggressive style of acting, expressed his love by hiring a white Cadillac to drive his wife to the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, reports The Sun. The couple, who have been married since June 1994, renewed their vows at the 24-hour drive in chapel in Sin City.

The actor, who has starred in films such as Gone In Sixty Seconds and Snatch, wore a purple suit with a big white buttonhole bloom for his Elvis-style ceremony. An Elvis imitator was also around to sing a few classics for the couple.

ADIOS, HUNTSVILLE.

The "Audionics" label that released "Across The Country Vol. 2" containing the Huntsville, May 31st, 1975 Evening show earlier this year, will another outstanding new CD soon. It's titled "Adios Huntsville", and it contains the last of Elvis' five legendary Huntsville concerts from the May/June 1975 tour, as recorded from the soundboard on June 1st, 1975, 8:30 P.M. - no edits, the complete tape.

It was one of the the best shows of the tour, and a happy, humorous and good-voiced Elvis delivered excellent versions of songs like "The Wonder Of You", "Polk Salad Annie", "T.R.O.U.B.L.E.", "I Can't Stop Loving You", "I'll Remember You" and "An American Trilogy".

A first generation DAT copy of the original mono soundboard recording was used for this project. As the majority of die-hard fans know, none of the May / June 1975 tour soundboards were recorded in their entirety. This time, only "C. C. Rider" and "I Got A Woman" / "Amen" were not recorded. The producers added these tracks from another concert, as recorded from the soundboard in Dayton, OH, 06.10.'74 8:30 P.M. These two tracks were released previously, but here they appear in superior audio from an alternate source.

As you've come to expect from us, this CD is accompanied with a classy 16-page full color booklet containing liner notes as written by a renowned Elvis expert, who was lucky enough to be in the Huntsville crowd on that day. The majority of the photographs in the booklet were taken during the Huntsville, AL, June 1st, 1975 8:30 P.M. show, where Elvis wore the "Black Eagle" suit. Several additional photographs from the Huntsville, June 1st, 1975 2:30 P.M. concert and from the Dayton, OH, October 6th, 1974 8:30 P.M. show were added to "complete the picture".

As Elvis said: "I'd like to say something, can I raise my hand... we have had a fantastic time here in Huntsville... a little rough getting in and out of my hotel, but that's all right. But you've really been fantastic down here. If you want us back in Huntsville, just let us know, and we shall be back."

Now every fan will have the opportunity to return to Huntsville with the King again & again, for an unforgettable night of Elvis magic.

Artist To Rebuild Graceland In Tramway Hall.

The artist Alexandre Perigot is to rebuild Graceland, the Memphis home of Elvis Presley, in the largest hall of the Tramway arts centre in Glasgow, and stage concerts inside it.

But despite its world fame and popularity as a tourist attraction, the home, built in the pillared "classical revival" style, is of modest size and can fit neatly inside one of the old tram sheds in Pollokshields.

Alexandre Perigot is to rebuild Graceland to scale, 1:1, in an art piece called Elvis House/Maison d'Elvis as part of his Pipedream exhibition.

The show opens on July 8 and runs until the beginning of August.

However, Mr Perigot's version is Graceland unplugged: the to-scale model is rendered only in scaffolding.

This will allow for the second part of the art work to take place inside it, a performance of Presley's music, and a sound and sculptural installation.

It will host The Parsonage, a Glasgow-based choir which will sing songs by Elvis, a punk band called Agaskodo Teliverek, and a music piece created especially for the Tramway by Simon Fisher Turner, who created the scores for the films of Derek Jarman and has worked with David Bowie and Brian Eno.

Yesterday Perigot, who is based in Paris but is originally from Corsica, said he had chosen to replicate Graceland to make a work which draws attention to how banal or uninteresting architecture is rendered important by its owners.

More than 500,000 people visit Graceland a year, to see where Elvis lived, and visit his grave.

"The idea came to me when I used to live and work in the Montmartre area of Paris, and I used to see tour guides take people to the houses of Pablo Picasso and Derrida (the philosopher)," he said.

"I thought: is it really enough for a famous person to have lived in this building to make it interesting?

"The buildings were really unremarkable but the crowds were drawn by the names associated with them and I was stupefied by that: you look at a building and it is nothing, but then you are told Derrida lived there and it's wow'! The star system creates a new reality.

"I visited Graceland - it is the most visited house in the world, they say - and took down its dimensions: it is an ordinary Victorian-style house, it is not that big, it's not that fantastic, but it is where Elvis lived, so it is important."

Presley purchased Graceland in early 1957, moving in with his father Vernon Presley and his mother Gladys, and died in its bathroom 20 years later.

Preview Of Inside Elvis Is Back Boxset.

Here is a preview of the upcoming Elvis Unlimited release "Elvis Is Back" . It will be made like the two “Inside” boxes. The book will be thicker and the DVD will be much longer than in the two previous boxes.

Synopsis:

Elvis Is Back will be about Elvis’ return to the music scene in 1960. This year was a bittersweet one for Elvis. He was being discharged from the Army. Music had changed in two years and he was a little insecure about his music career.

Yet he enters the sessions with such ambition and determination. He delivers a new mature diverse voice. “It's Now Or Never” and “Surrender” are truly challenging for Elvis. He proofs himself to be a truly talented singer and not just a flash in the pan. These recording sessions will forever stand out in Elvis’ history.

It’s almost as if Elvis hit the ground running upon his return. The Colonel had been busy preparing for Elvis' return for a very long time. Not only were the recording sessions lined up, an appearance on the ABC televised Frank Sinatra Special and the filming for “G.I. Blues” were immediately following.

His appearance on the Sinatra Special is warmly received by the public. Elvis innocently steals the show from Sinatra. Yet the repertoire between the two performers is very apparent. “G.I. Blues” is a very successful film for Elvis although Elvis hates being in uniform again.

During this year, Elvis is also experiencing many changes in his personal life. Elvis has met Priscilla while in Germany. But he returns to his long time girlfriend Anita Wood. They continue their relationship where it left off before Elvis left for Germany. Vernon marries Dee, which is hard on Elvis because of the loss of his mother. Elvis also brings many of his friends from Germany home and the Memphis Mafia is formed.

But still the most important thing during the year 1960 is the amazing recording sessions. We have two incredible albums from this year, “Elvis Is Back” and “His Hand In Mine.” Elvis truly proves his ability as a performer. He conquers every challenge he is faced with and proves Elvis is back!

Elvis Is Back will present many never before seen pictures from this period. There will even be some very interesting ones from the filming of G.I. Blues. Those were not used in the Inside G.I. Blues book.

EU Restarts Sony-BMG Probe.

EU regulators restarted an antitrust investigation on Tuesday into Sony Corp. and Bertelsmann AG's 2004 deal to combine their music units, setting a new approval deadline of Oct. 10.

The European Commission suspended on its inquiry in March, saying the companies had not submitted the information needed to examine the deal.

It did not explain why it restarted its probe.

Regulators are examining the deal that formed the world's second-largest record label after an EU court overturned earlier clearance to go forward, saying the Commission had not done enough to prove that there was no monopoly in the record industry.

The Sony-BMG merger brought Sony artists like Aerosmith, George Michael and Barbra Streisand and BMG's Avril Lavigne and Elvis Presley under one label, and shrank the number of major music companies from five to four.

The EU's executive arm is now reconsidering the deal under current market conditions, taking into account developments such as growing sales of online music.

If the EU clears the deal again, there is a legal precedent to demand selloffs or changes to business behavior to counter antitrust concerns.

Heiress Loses Fight For Painting Of Red Elvis.

NEW HAVEN (AP) — Elvis left the building with the right owner, the Connecticut Supreme Court ruled in an opinion released Monday.

A 1962 Andy Warhol silk screen featuring 36 identical images of Elvis Presley's face was at the center of a court battle in Connecticut.

Swedish heiress Kersten Lindholm of Greenwich appealed a court ruling that declared newsprint magnate Peter Brant the rightful owner of "Red Elvis," a 6-foot-tall painting worth as much as $12 million.

Brant bought the painting seven years ago from Lindholm's art dealer, who was later convicted of stealing it.

The high court ruled unanimously that Brant is the rightful owner of the art work.

Superior Court Judge Chase Rogers, now the state Supreme Court chief justice, ruled in 2005 that Brant made a reasonable effort to confirm that Swedish art dealer Anders Malmberg was authorized to sell the painting.

The Supreme Court agreed, noting that Brant hired an attorney to conduct an investigation and insisted on a formal contract.

"We conclude that these steps were sufficient to conform to reasonable commercial standards for the sale of art work under the circumstances and, therefore, that the defendant had status as a buyer in the ordinary course of business," Justice William Sullivan wrote.

Lindholm had filed a civil suit alleging that Brant and Malmberg conspired to buy the painting without her permission.

Brant, a longtime Warhol collector, paid $2.9 million to buy the painting from Malmberg, who had represented Lindholm in many art transactions, according to court documents. The painting is now in Brant's private collection.

Brant bought the painting while it was on exhibit in Europe as part of a Warhol tour put on by the Guggenheim Museum of New York.

In 2003, Malmberg began serving a three-year term in Sweden on criminal theft charges in connection with the sale of "Red Elvis."

Lisa Marie Health Problem.

Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis Presley and former wife of Michael Jackson, has revealed she contracted mercury poisoning after botched dental work.

Speaking about the illness, she described how she suffered multiple symptoms: "My body started to deteriorate. I started to have panic attacks. One week it was asthma, hypoglycaemia, candida, reflux. I had everything. I wound up in the hospital. I had everything happening -- my body completely fell apart.,There are two commonly recognised forms of mercury poisoning: acute and chronic poisoning."

The first -- which isn't terribly common nowadays -- is thought to be linked to the presence of ulcers in the stomach and with toxic discharges in the kidney. Though not as serious as chronic poisoning, the consequences are scarcely trivial: sufferers may become anaemic and have trouble passing water -- this is because they have developed anuria which means they cannot form urine.

Chronic mercury poisoning, in contrast, can affect an individual in a multiple of ways, all of them serious in the extreme. They may experience diarrhoea, tremors, impaired vision, slowed reflexes and emotional instability. People have been dying from mercury poisoning since the start of recorded history. We can blame mercury for the expression 'mad as a hatter'.

For Lisa Marie, at least, the story has a happy ending. She sought out a homeopathic doctor who told her mercury was leaking from her fillings, causing her to feel unwell. As soon as the fillings were removed, she started to recover. "They try to say mercury is safe," she said. "But it's the second-deadliest poison known to man, underneath plutonium, and it's in people's teeth.

“Fit for a King” : The Story of B&K Enterprises.

People are constantly emailing and asking how Kim & I got started in this business. While there have been numerous articles in newspapers, and interviews in magazines and on television -- some of which are located on this site, in order to clear up this curiosity it's my pleasure to provide the information for you.

I was born in 1957. At this time, Elvis had already started his career and my mother and father were both fans and admirers of his--especially my mother, who adored Elvis. She told me many times that when she was pregnant with me, each time Elvis would come on the radio she would put her belly against the radio when Elvis would sing and I would start moving. I guess I haven't stopped since!

Growing up in the 60's was a wonderful time. I came from a very humble family, which consisted of my mother, Betty Polston, my father, Bobby Polston, and my two younger brothers, Jim and Pat. My mother was a housewife and my father worked construction work throughout my youth. The type of construction work he was involved in did not pay a great deal of money. I guess you could call us somewhat poor, but we didn't realize it because there was enough love to fill in the voids.

My mother would always keep an eye on the newspapers and when a new Elvis movie would come out at the Clarksville or Lakewood drive-ins in the small town we lived in, she would always take notice and get very excited. My father is a true family man. He would always work as much overtime as he could get to earn the extra money needed to take his family to see the wonders of Elvis Presley on the big screen.

We now fast forward to my mid teens. This was in the early 70's and the drive-ins would have dusk to dawn Elvis movies. Some of my friends and I would always cut lawns during the summer, or sell soft drink bottles for the deposits, so we could get together and go see the dusk to dawn Elvis features. When "Elvis, That's The Way It Is" and later "Elvis On Tour" came out, I was gone--just absolutely bitten by the Elvis costume bug!

To me, Elvis was always larger than life. I always thought if I got the chance to meet him, he would be as big as he was on the silver screen. Seeing him wear those costumes blew me away! As a child, I always loved the superheroes of the day. To me, this was Elvis. I no longer bought superman comic books once I saw Elvis in these costumes. They were fictional, and Elvis was not.

I met the love of my life in the summer of 1975. That's the first time I met my future wife, Kim. I knew that the first time I saw her I was in love, and all things in the future were possible. After a few years of dating, Kim and I were engaged to get married. In August of 1977, a date appeared that would change the course of my life and hers forever. She was at band camp learning the newest marches, as she was in the marching band for Clarksville High School. Kim is a couple of years younger than I, so I followed in my fathers footsteps and became a construction worker.

On the date Elvis left us, I was in a car going home from work and Kim was not with me. We both heard the news at the same time but in different places. I was so stunned that I pulled over in a parking lot of a shopping mall and found myself weeping over a man that I had never met before. For some reason I knew the shear magnitude of this man would reach across all generations and boundaries and touch massive amounts of people. After all, this is a man who was on a first name basis with the world!

Kim and I were married in 1978 and we both were working at low paying jobs. We immediately started our family by having our wonderful son Michael. During this period of time, I would scrape what extra money I could up to join fan clubs in different parts of the country. Back then, there were hundreds. Kim posed a question to me one day, asking 'If you could have anything that Elvis owned, besides Graceland, what would it be?" Kim always knew that I was a car buff, and that I made comments about some of Elvis' cars that I had seen in pictures in numerous tribute magazines which came out after his death. She fully expected me to say one of his cars. Imagine how stunned she was when I told her I would dearly love to have one of Elvis' jumpsuits!

We had a great deal of discussion, with Kim asking "Why one of his costumes?" My answer to her was that "I cannot imagine anything other than the birth of our son and my marriage to you that would make me any happier." They were pieces of art to me. The personified Elvis' larger than life image. This is where the story of how we got started actually starts.

Kim had asked me one day how much I thought one of Elvis' costumes had cost. I had no clue. So, I set forth on a journey to find out what something like this would be priced at, and if anyone had obtained one of his costumes. After contacting several of the fan clubs I had belonged to, I was led to a few people who owned garments that they had obtained by some means, that had belonged to Elvis. I inquired as to the price that an item of this nature would run, and whether they had interest in selling them. The different collectors informed me that they would be interested in selling them for $100,000 each.

At the time I was writing these letters, and doing this research, Kim and I were so broke we didn't even have enough money to pay attention! Our son, Michael, was always sick with allergies or Strep throat--which he battled with throughout his life until about the age of 12 when they finally removed his tonsils. We battled week in and week out to try and make ends meet, so I knew whole-heartedly that there was no way I would ever own one of these magnificent pieces of art.

In late 1979, I attended a small fan club meeting that was held in Louisville, KY. Louisville is bordering the city that I live in, so it was a great opportunity to mingle with other Elvis fans. Kim and I struck up a conversation with a lady named Edna Graham. Ms. Graham's young son was also an Elvis fan, and she had made him a few jumpsuits and studded them up the best she could. I approached Ms. Graham and asked her if she could make our son, Michael, a jumpsuit. She graciously accepted. She cut out a powder blue colored costume and I took pictures from the tribute magazines I had purchased and went to a local craft store and purchased small bags of studs, meticulously placing them on the costume so that our son Michael would have an Elvis costume for Christmas. You see, Michael was, and is to this day, a true Elvis fan, along with his parents. He took up his father's desires to own an Elvis costume. It gave Kim and I great joy on Christmas of 1979 to see him play his little guitar and dance around in his Elvis costume.

Kim suggested that I work a deal with Ms. Graham to make a few as conversation pieces. So, Ms. Graham cut out four costumes for me for very little money. I put the studs on them. Once again, using the tribute magazines as a guide, and going to the local craft store (Baer Fabrics) to get the studs. The pickings were slim, but I was able to scrape up enough to produce the four I was trying to do. At that time, I did not know what Elvis' dimensions were, so we cut them to fit me--even though I had no intentions of wearing them-these were to be in my Elvis collection as conversation pieces. The four suits I made were the Powder Blue, the White Pinwheel, The Red Pinwheel, and the Owl. They were rough copies, but we did the best we could--meticulously putting on each stud by hand--by placing the studs through the fabric and bending each prong over with a screwdriver or a butter knife.

In February of 1980, I was told by a friend of mine, who's name was Don Seay, to follow my dreams of going to Memphis. At the time, Don was an Elvis memorabilia dealer, and was planning to go to Memphis, but was unable to make it. He told me that all the fan clubs and some memorabilia dealers would stay at a motel on Brooks Road in Memphis, which is around the corner from Elvis Presley Boulevard. This motel is the Days Inn on Brooks Road. The fan clubs and fans would stay there and open their doors so everyone could come into each others' rooms to buy, sell, and trade Elvis collectibles. This excited me to no end! I brought this to Kim's attention and she informed me that we didn't have the money to buy groceries, much less take a vacation to Memphis. I told her that we had a number of months, and I was going to raise the money somehow so that I could be with other Elvis fans and show off the costumes.

From February of 1980 until the first part of August, 1980, I started collecting soft drink bottles when you could get .05 each deposit back on them. I also was working part time for a farmer, and he had several truck, car, and tractor batteries laying in mud in his pig pen. He told me I could have them if I dug them up out of the mud and pig manure. I knew at the time I could get $5 each back then for the batteries so they could recycle the lead from them. I spent 8 hours digging thru pig manure to retrieve the batteries. I found 20 batteries. So, by selling scrap I raised approximately $120. I was thrilled, however disappointed when I found out there were no rooms available at the Days Inn. A friend of mine, who belonged to another Elvis fan club told me he originally was going to go, but his boss would not let him have those days off. He had already put a deposit down on the room, so I reimbursed him with the excitement of knowing that I was finally going to Memphis. Even though Graceland had not opened to the public at this time, at least I knew I could walk up and touch the fence and see the house at a distance. Most importantly, we could be with other Elvis fans to share our love of his career and life.

In August of 1980, Kim and I loaded up our beat up, on it's last legs, 1968 Olds Cutlass. The car looked so terrible that I was afraid people would make fun of us, so I took part of the money and purchased several cans of primer and primered the whole car so it wouldn't show the rust and dingy paint as bad. The three of us were on our way to three fun-filled days of pure joy in Memphis. As we traveled on our journey, we got on the outskirts of Nashville and bad luck hit. The water pump went out on the car, so we had to wait until a parts place within walking distance opened, so that I could buy a rebuilt water pump. This cost about $40 out of our vacation money. I also had to replace the hoses, as they were dry rotted.

We arrived in Memphis and paid for our room in advance with the fear that we would lose our money and have to wash dishes to pay for our room. What a thrill those days were! They had a podium set up by the swimming pool, and different people who were involved with the fan clubs or Elvis himself would give a little talk and walk around signing autographs for fans. By the second day, we were close to being broke. I didn't even have enough money to buy an Elvis souvenir. Kim and I figured by the time we ate supper that second day and then bought gas the next day, we would have about .57 to buy Michaels breakfast on the trip back home.

In the afternoon of the second day, I had spent a lot of time walking around in front of the gate, letting my money worries leave my mind. We then came back to the motel and the fan clubs had opened their doors--welcoming all the fans to come in and see their buy-sell-trades. I laid the four jumpsuits across the bed in our room for the fans to look at. They came in and oohed and aahed over them, and what Kim and I had done. Then at that very time our luck had changed. An Elvis Tribute Artist walked into the room. At that time there were most likely 20 to 30 tribute artists in the U.S.--if that many. He informed us that the workmanship was wonderful. He said that he had been doing shows successfully for over a year. He told us that he had been paying thousands of dollars for his costumes and they were trash compared to what we made. Kim and I thought this was a strange thing. Being from a small town in Indiana, we had never seen anyone pretend to be someone else. We had a hard enough time trying to keep up with ourselves. This gentleman was very gracious.

He inquired as to the amount I was asking for the costumes. I had no answer and was dumbfounded that he would even ask. I thought he was actually teasing. He informed us that he was not teasing and went and got his costumes and showed us what he had been wearing. We were a bit disappointed that someone would be trying to imitate Elvis wearing this type of wardrobe. He then asked if he could try on the garments that we had made, as he was close to my size. Kim and I looked at each other with a puzzled look, as if a cow had just kicked us in the face. He then told us he was dead serious--if the suits fit he would love to purchase them from us. So, I let him try them on. He was blown away with what we had done and the quality of the garments! He had told us that he would give us $500 each for the costumes. Once again, Kim and I thought this guy was pulling our leg. At this point he pulled out a roll of money big enough to choke a horse. He started peeling off $100 bills--informing us that he was serious. This was $2000 total. It was all the money in the world to Kim and me. Seeing how we were only going to have .57 to feed our son on the way home, it was a true blessing. I did inform him I had no intention of selling the costumes, however he was persistent and once he peeled off $2000, Kim was standing very close to me holding our son, Michael, in her arms and beating me in the ribs with her other elbow saying "take it, take it!" The tribute artist told me I married a wise woman. We were actually able to buy a few Elvis souvenirs, and eat a steak for supper that night.
