New Article about TOP SECRET : ELVIS PRESLEY PATERNITY SUIT UNCOVERED (BOOK/DVD)
By Bud Glass Productions in GOLDMINE MAGAZINE (April 2007 edition)
Documentary examines the King's secret
By Gillian G. GaarNo matter who you are, if you’re in the public eye in a big way, controversy is sure to follow eventually.
That was certainly true for Elvis Presley, who attracted controversy from the very beginning of his career. In the ’50s, comment swirled about his “degenerate” music and performing style, but in the ’70s, he faced a more serious threat when he was slapped with a paternity suit from Patricia Ann Parker; the case dragged on for six years.
You’ll find the full story of that case in “Top Secret: Elvis Presley Paternity Suit Uncovered!” The book and accompanying DVD documentary is by Bud Glass, a longtime Elvis fan. Glass had been building his collection for many years when he received some unexpected inspiration after the acquisition of some “incredible” Elvis home-movie footage.
“I realized there were many other fans like me out there who love rare Elvis footage as I do, so I decided to share it with fans around the world,” he says. “I was only interested in producing a top-notch, quality production that was 100 percent positive. So much has been told about the legend of Elvis Presley; I decided to explore more of the man behind the image. By interviewing friends of mine in the Elvis world who knew Elvis personally, I wanted to show the more private and personal side of Elvis. I believe that only through the collective efforts of taking those individual pieces and putting them together do we start to see a glimpse of the true man behind the image.”
Hence the series of “Elvis: Behind the Image” books and DVDs put out by Glass’ Praytome Publishing, whose catalog now includes five books and five documentaries. Glass became interested in Elvis’ paternity troubles due to the various comments Elvis made about the incident during his shows of the time.
“It was obvious to me that this was something that affected Elvis enough to discuss it from the stage, and I was intrigued,” Glass says. “The comments were sometimes so subtle, the real meaning was most likely never really perceived by the audience.”
ELVIS PRESLEY PATERNITY SUIT UNCOVERED (BOOK/DVD)
While working on the first volume of “Behind The Image” six years ago, Glass’ friend and collaborator, Russ Howe, showed him photos taken by a hidden camera documenting when Elvis, Patricia Parker and her son, Jason Peter Presley, arrived at a laboratory in 1971 for blood tests.
“Only a few had ever been seen, in poor quality and with wrong information about what they actually were,” says Glass. “Instead of including them in ‘Behind The Image,’ I decided that with all of the information I already knew, this would be much better served in its own production. It was the only way to give this untold story the justice it deserves.”
So work began on “Top Secret.” Although many things in the documentary date back more than 20 years in Glass’ collection, the actual serious investigation took more than four years, Glass said. The book and DVD are packed with interesting things — reproductions of court documents, Jason’s birth certificate, candid footage and the infamous photo snapped of Elvis and Patricia on the night they met, among other items. So why was this a story Glass wanted to cover?
“What interested me was not the possibility of an heir to the throne, or to tarnish Elvis’ reputation or memory, but rather to dispel the myths and reveal for the first time ever the intricate details of this little known, very long chapter in Elvis’ life and career,” he explains. “As a fan, you may know of Elvis’ career, but do you know all the trials and tribulations he endured during the course of that career? What he was dealing with privately as his career took shape? I felt it was equally important to present the remarkable accomplishments and factual events in Elvis’ life and career as they simultaneously unfold with the story of the legal battle. This gives you a unique, inside perspective into the emotional elements Elvis must have been dealing with privately during that period, as he recorded in the studio or performed to millions of people as he toured the country in the 1970s. This is so much more than just a detailed dissection of a legal battle. The finished work, by design, will consciously bounce you back and forth between Elvis Presley the defendant, the superstar and, ultimately, the man.”Book/DVD set Dixieland Delight.
Glass’ next release will be another book/DVD set, “Dixieland Delight,” an in-depth look at Elvis’ 1975 Memorial Day weekend performances in Alabama. You can expect previously unseen photographs (both professional and candid shots), as well as unreleased candid footage, and firsthand accounts by those who were there to experience it all.

Fight To Save Kid Galahad Location.
The Idyllwild Area Historical Society are fighting to save the mountain location where Elvis filmed Kid Galahad in 1961.
The San Jacinto mountain area in California also features three log cabins with a pool, tennis and badminton courts. One of which was used by honeymooners Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio in 1954.
Although the buildings cannot be saved, a recreation centre or town hall has been proposed for the area.
Idyllwild Area Historical Society was organized in 2000 by a group of residents who were concerned about losing many of the historic buildings, artifacts and oral histories of the communities in the San Jacinto mountains. The area is rich with history of the earliest residents, the Native Americans, and also with that of those who came later. The loggers, the pioneers, the summer camps, miners and others have left many legacies which we are dedicated to preserving.

Update On "Collector's Edition" Of "Elvis, Linda & Me".
About the new book "Elvis, Linda & Me" by Jeanne Lemay Dumas, and whether it is being delayed, etc. Apparently there has been some mixup about the book and when it is going to be available.
My name is Jim Cox, and I'm Jeanne's co-writer on the book, and I wanted to let you know what is going on concerning the book.I think part of the reason for the confusion was the way the book first came out. It was originally put out as a self-published book by Jeanne through Authorhouse. The book was printed and made available only through authorhouse.com to begin with.
Then, within several weeks of it first becoming available, it was picked up by Rooftop Publishing, and all printing on the original book was stopped. Rooftop then decided that they were going to make the book available, first, as a soft cover with 30 black & white photos, which is the book that is now available through the usual channels (Borders, Barnes & Nobles, Walden's, etc.).
It is going to be released in a much nicer format called the "Collector's Edition," on May 15, and is going to be 8 1/2" x 11", hardcover, and contain 70 glossy photos which will all be in color. The actual book story is the same but it will just be bigger, in hardback, and with 70 full color pictures.

Barbra Streisand 'I'm As Memorable As Elvis'
ElvisSuperstar Barbara Streisand, who once asked Elvis to appear next to her in the movie "A Star Is Born", has defended her decision to charge fans up to £500 ($1000) a ticket to see her perform for the first time in 13 years this summer (June 7, 2007), because she believes she is as big as Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra.
The Woman In Love star will be appearing on stage in the UK as part of her 2007 European tour, and claims the ticket prices are justified because part of the proceeds will go to her charity, the Barbra Streisand Foundation. Her spokesperson says, "Seeing Barbra Streisand in concert is a pretty momentous occasion that ranks up there with seeing Sinatra or Elvis.http://www.topeventtickets.com/barbra_streisand_tickets

Preview Of Elvis Is Back Boxset.
Here is a preview of the upcoming Elvis Unlimited release "Elvis Is Back" which is due for release May 2007. It will be made like the two “Inside” boxes. The book will be thicker and the DVD will be much longer than in the two previous boxes.
Synopsis: Elvis Is Back will be about Elvis’ return to the music scene in 1960. This year was a bittersweet one for Elvis. He was being discharged from the Army. Music had changed in two years and he was a little insecure about his music career.
Yet he enters the sessions with such ambition and determination. He delivers a new mature diverse voice. “It's Now Or Never” and “Surrender” are truly challenging for Elvis. He proofs himself to be a truly talented singer and not just a flash in the pan. These recording sessions will forever stand out in Elvis’ history.
It’s almost as if Elvis hit the ground running upon his return. The Colonel had been busy preparing for Elvis' return for a very long time. Not only were the recording sessions lined up, an appearance on the ABC televised Frank Sinatra Special and the filming for “G.I. Blues” were immediately following.
His appearance on the Sinatra Special is warmly received by the public. Elvis innocently steals the show from Sinatra. Yet the repertoire between the two performers is very apparent. “G.I. Blues” is a very successful film for Elvis although Elvis hates being in uniform again.
During this year, Elvis is also experiencing many changes in his personal life. Elvis has met Priscilla while in Germany. But he returns to his long time girlfriend Anita Wood. They continue their relationship where it left off before Elvis left for Germany. Vernon marries Dee, which is hard on Elvis because of the loss of his mother. Elvis also brings many of his friends from Germany home and the Memphis Mafia is formed.
But still the most important thing during the year 1960 is the amazing recording sessions. We have two incredible albums from this year, “Elvis Is Back” and “His Hand In Mine.” Elvis truly proves his ability as a performer. He conquers every challenge he is faced with and proves Elvis is back!
Elvis Is Back will present many never before seen pictures from this period. There will even be some very interesting ones from the filming of G.I. Blues. Those were not used in the Inside G.I. Blues book.Pre-Order Now At the: EpGold.Web-Shop

Vernon seeks top Elvis.
Vernon Kay has been signed up to host a new show that aims to find the world's greatest Elvis Presley impersonator.
The 32-year-old presenter will lead the hunt for the 30 best tribute acts, who will then go head-to-head in front of judges and a live studio audience.
The show will be screened on BBC One this summer, to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the rock 'n' roll star's death.
It is not the first time that Vernon has hosted a search to find singing talent - he fronted two series of BBC show Just The Two Of Us alongside wife Tess Daly.
He currently presents a weekend morning show on Radio 1, and also hosts All Star Family Fortunes on ITV.
His task to find the best tribute to The King won't be easy - there are an estimated 85,000 Elvis impersonators across the globe, up from just 170 when he died on August 16, 1977.

FOLLOW ME TO TENNESSEE.
Follow Me To Tennessee by Andrew Hearn & Andrrew Snelgrove from Essential Elvis UK has just released a brand new interesting book for Memphis travelers.
In "Follow me to Tennessee", Andrew Hearn & Andrew Snelgrove shows you the footsteps of Elvis, and explains the history of the Elvis Hot Spots in the state of Tennessee.
It's not the first book about Elvis in Memphis, but the city has changed so much over the years that an updated book had to be written.
An ideal gift for everybody who wants to know more about Elvis's hometown.
A 116-page book titled Follow Me To Tennessee. Written and researched to the highest degree, this book is an accurate guide to 123 Elvis-related sights in and around the city of Memphis.
There has been a number of similar books published over the years, so why another one? To put it simply, Memphis has changed quite considerably recently, and we feel it’s time for a revised look at what Elvis-related sights the city still has to offer.
Over the last few years, many buildings have been imploded or destroyed, and it’s a common myth that most of the old Elvis haunts are now gone. We aim to prove otherwise. Within its pages, this book will provide new information regarding a number of relatively unknown places, along with fresh information and photographs relating to some of the more well-known sights.Fans will also enjoy the recollections of some of Elvis’ closest friends and associates (including Sam & Linda Thompson and Ginger Alden) - Something no other Elvis guidebook offers.
Although there are some excellent books aiming to provide the same service, most are inaccurate regarding factual information and directions. Due to years of intense research, many of the common errors have now been corrected, and previous out-of-date information has been refreshed.
During our many visits, we have found that there is so much to see in Memphis, but so few manage even a fraction of what should be experienced. Either they don’t know about such places, or they’re not confident enough to stray off the beaten track.Memphis still has so much to offer the hundreds of thousands of Elvis fans who visit annually, and with this book, they’ll be able to get so much more from their trip.
As well as written directions along side each place featured in this book, we’ve printed simple maps enabling the reader to easily find their chosen places of interest.
Whether looking forward to a once-in-a-lifetime visit to the King‘s hometown, or planning a return visit, this is the book that should be taken on that flight. It’s the most comprehensive guide to Elvis’ Memphis yet.
Even if a trip to Memphis isn’t possible, we’re sure you’ll find this book a fascinating read – It’s the next best thing to being there.

Elvis' Lyrics Published Online.
Here is an excerpt of the press release on the addition of song lyrics from Elvis' catalogue on the Yahoo! and Gracenote online database.
Press release
Yahoo! Music (NASDAQ: YHOO) and Gracenote(R) today announced a new licensing deal allowing Yahoo! Music to offer the largest catalog of legal, licensed song lyrics from Gracenote to Yahoo! Music's consumers. Beginning today, song lyrics for hundreds of thousands of songs from all five major publishers will be incorporated into Yahoo! Music through Gracenote's growing database. The agreement with Gracenote makes Yahoo! Music the first mass-market Web service to make licensed song lyrics available to consumers.
Through the agreement, consumers can search for song lyrics from the Yahoo! Music Search bar, simply by entering even a partial lyric from the song. Consumers will have viewing access to lyrics from nearly 100 music publishers, including the top five: BMG Music Publishing, EMI Music Publishing, Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Universal Music Publishing Group, Warner/Chappell Music, and dozens of prominent independent publishers. The addition of a comprehensive lyrics library complements existing Yahoo! Music products and services such as radio, music videos and on-demand music offerings,
Gracenote began developing its Lyrics program more than two years ago, with the goal of building the first and most comprehensive database of legal, accurate song lyrics for consumers. The deal between Yahoo! Music and Gracenote is an important step toward enhancing the digital music experience of the consumer while protecting the legal and artistic rights of songwriters and music publishers. "Song lyrics are continually among the top 10 searches performed on major search engines, though the results often provide consumers a frustrating experience filled with inconsistent and incomplete lyrics, and annoying pop-ups," said Craig Palmer, president and chief executive officer of Gracenote. "With Gracenote and Yahoo!, consumers will have access to the largest database of high quality lyrics linked directly to the rich album and artist content available throughout Yahoo! Music."

West Leaving Bartlett For Biloxi.
Actor Red West and wife Pat are planning to sell their Bartlett residence and move to Biloxi, Miss., closer to family and more plentiful acting opportunities.
The Wests met when Red was among Elvis Presley's entourage and Pat was the singer's secretary during filming of "Follow that Dream."
In 2005 West -- also known as a songwriter and friend of Elvis Presley -- was in "Forty Shades of Blue" that won the grand jury prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
In 2006 he nailed a juicy role in the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced sports flick "Glory Road."
And less than two weeks ago he showed up in the pilot of the new FX channel hit "The Riches" in a recurring role.
The critically acclaimed series stars Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver as a family of Irish Travelers who take over the identities of a couple killed in a car crash.
Irish Travelers are nomadic clans often viewed as thieves and troublemakers -- and they certainly are in "The Riches." The nuclear family headed by Izzard and Driver's characters have split from the larger clan, taking more than their share of the treasury and shattering the usually tight-knit tribe.
West's character is the clan patriarch but has been incapacitated. He can communicate only by ringing a bell and staring with eyes that are sometimes baleful, sometimes angry.
West said filming the show was great fun and he hopes -- as all actors do -- that it will lead to more work. The director of one of the episodes told him that "sooner or later" he'd use West in another project. "I said, make it sooner, son."
Wherever he goes, his wife Pat West is always with him. Back in the early Sixties, he was hanging around with Elvis and she was the singer's secretary.
They met, and in three weeks were married. Their honeymoon was spent in Florida where Elvis was filming "Follow that Dream" and director Gordon Douglas gave Red plenty of work -- sometimes as an extra, sometimes doing stunt work, sometimes as a double.
"They made him up all different ways," Pat says, "so we had some money for our honeymoon."
Pat is an agent for members of the Screen Actors Guild. She's as involved in the film business as Red is, but the Mid-South will soon lose both when they settle in Biloxi, Miss. There they'll be much nearer to New Orleans where film and TV shows are constantly in production. They'll also be nearer to their son, actor John Boyd West, and their grandchildren.
They are departing with mixed feelings. Red bemoans Tennessee's lateness in responding to the film incentives that have been offered since 2002 in Louisiana. Substantial tax breaks have lured a steady stream of productions to the state.
Tennessee's General Assembly approved an incentive package last year. It still has not been implemented although an announcement is expected soon from the Tennessee Film, Entertainment and Music Commission, possibly in a few days.
The Wests say, however, that local film boosters have gone all out. Pat pointed out that Memphis and Shelby County Film & Television Commission head Linn Sitler and board chairman Herbie O'Mell have worked tirelessly to bring productions to Memphis.
For Red, though, the action keeps pulling him back to the Crescent City. His first movie was "King Creole," starring Elvis and filmed in New Orleans. Since then he's been in dozens of movies and dozens more TV shows.
Another reason that leaving town is so bittersweet is that the Wests are leaving their house in Bartlett with a large pond and stables on the acreage.
It certainly has acres of memories. A number of celebrities have been by, many speaking to the acting classes Red held from shortly after he moved here from California in 1991 until last year.
They include Benicio del Toro, Billy Bob Thornton, Joe Don Baker, Robert Conrad, T.G. Sheppard, Bo Hopkins and Gene Evans.
When "Forty Shades of Blue" began shooting, director Ira Sachs brought Rip Torn, the film's marquee name, over to Red's house. In part it was so the actors could get to know each other, but mainly it was because Torn is a passionate fisherman.
"He stayed out on the pond all day," Red said. "In his dressing room on the set he put lures together. That was his whole life."
Soon the Wests will pack those 8-by-10 celebrity photos and a houseful of memories. The relocation to Biloxi will cut back on those fuel bills, amped up by frequent Memphis-New Orleans runs. But they'll still take frequent jaunts to Atlanta where Red has a stake in Red's Bar and Restaurant, an eatery where the walls are covered with Red West memorabilia.
But if those walls illustrate his colorful past, he's also an actor still cultivating his career. And for his future, he's got to go where the action is.

The one-hour special, shot in high-definition, will provide a personal and heartfelt perspective on the legendary star’s life through the eyes of Klein, whom Presley had originally met in high school in 1948. The film is laced with a soundtrack of the star’s music, an original score inspired by the era, exclusive photos, and newsreel and archive footage.
“This candid and touching special is a real gem as it marks the first time that George Klein has ever talked in great detail about his friendship with Elvis, exclusively to camera,” said Rick Stevens, the chairman of Record Plant Pictures. “He does so with integrity and honesty, as one of the elite few to have shared the highs and lows with the star.”
“The timing of this deal couldn’t be better as we soon approach the 30th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s demise,” added Lara von Ahlefeldt, the director of music and acquisitions at 3DD Entertainment. “This will no doubt be a huge occasion for fans worldwide and we are delighted to have been appointed distributors of such a prestigious and exclusive TV special.”

This auction also includes a large collection of Chesterfield Tobacco advertisements and sports memorabilia which includes one of the earliest signed Babe Ruth baseballs dated 1919, one of Muhammed Ali’s training robes and Sean Connery’s bowtie from Dr. No.
Elvis’ ring is described as a fire opal ring given by Presley to Priscilla, then his fiancé, which we assume could mean Ginger Alden.

MORE ON ELVIS & CELINE DUET.
As reported two days ago, rumours are flying around regarding a CGI duet with Elvis and Celine Dion performing 'If I Can Dream' on the Idols give back show.
Cathi from Cathisphotos.com has sent us a little more information which she found posted on the American Idol fan forum and it is looking more likely that the rumours are true?
Message from Edanart:Just got back from a taping for the "Idol Gives Back" concert and it was soooooo cool. I'm not a huge Celine Dion fan, but my aunt is so I took her to see the performance. Celine was pre-taping her bit because they have her singing a duet with ELVIS. It totally rocked. Of course, I was so into the Elvis guy!!!! He was hot.
They had the Elvis impersonator from the Legends show in Las Vegas singing with her and then they said he will be in the wide shots, but for the close-ups they are going to CG the real Elvis onto his face! WEIRD. We got to see a preview of it on the monitor and I think it's going to be amazing when they are done.
The Idols were all there wearing white, but they weren't all dressed the same... they were dressed in their own signature style, but just all white (including white shoes). Like Phil had a white hat on, and Chris had a white hoodie under a jacket. It looked cool. They sang back-up and walked on stage about halfway through the song.
They had people standing in for Paula, Randy and Simon. You will only see the back of their heads and it's not really them. They were not sitting up like at the judges table, they took that table out and had them just in the front row.
I can't remember the Elvis guy's name, though they said it a few times. Ray? Ryan? Something like that. ( Note: Ryan Pelton www.ryanpelton.com )
(Ryan Pelton)
He was GREAT!!! I was shocked at how much he really looked like Elvis. Of course he was lip-synching because for the event they are going to pretend it's the "real" Elvis. I can't wait to see how it looks.
Anyway, if you see the show, look for me in the audience! I was like three rows from the stage. And wait until you see Celine in her see-through shirt. YIKES. Elvis was in a cool white suit, but she had on black pants and a see-through shirt with a bolero jacket. And crazy silver and black platform shoes. She certainly has an interesting styleThe Canadian singer will perform with a virtual Presley on the show. No decision is made about a CD release.
This will be broadcasted Wednesday April 25th.

However, these little gems are not for sale. Only 30 were made, and they serve as a bonus for the owners of a brand new Harley, Elvis Presley model.
At this stage, they are true collector's items, although probably noone can exclude the possibility that they will be made available to the general public at a later date, in a somewhat different form.

New Elvis Harley Makes Its Debut In Memphis.

The first picture of the Elvis Presley Harley Davidson bicycle. Less than an hour ago, our 'worker in Memphis', sent us this picture.
The 'unveiling' of the Elvis Harley took place at the Elvis Presley Plaza across from Graceland, the ceremony was hosted by COA Jack Soden.
The Harley made its debut when 'See See Rider' played in the speakers.
The first prototype was sold for 100.000 $US.It seems that more people are interested in the Elvis Harley than bikes are available.
EPE/Harley Davidson decided that a 'good luck lottery' would point out the 30 lucky new owners.

This rock 'n' roll classic was first a hit for Lloyd Price in 1952. Elvis' cover reached No 15 in the UK in November
1957. Artists as diverse as Little Richard and Paul McCartney have covered it.
06. SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL
Big Joe Turner first recorded this pioneering tune, often referred to as the first rock and roll record. The
provocative lyrics were given a clean-up by the time Bill Haley and his Comets took it to the Top 10 in 1954.
07. TUTTI FRUTTI
Elvis used Little Richard's toe-tapping anthem as a B-side to Blue Suede Shoes, which he released in 1956. The
song was No 43 on magazine Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
08. BLUE SUEDE SHOES
This was Elvis' second hit, and went in at No 9 in the UK charts in 1956. Originally a hit for Carl Perkins, this song
is one of Elvis' most celebrated cover versions.
09. PARALYZED
Another tune penned with the help of Otis Blackwell which hit No 8 in the UK in August 1957. It was never
released in the States as a single though, amid fear the title would be considered too controversial.
10 READY TEDDY Elvis sang this on his now legendary first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1956, which
was viewed by a then record-breaking 60 million people. It also featured on Little Richard's debut album which
was released a year later in 1957

Elvis and Celine Dion doing a duet for the next American Idol results show?
It's a special called "Idol Gives Back"
The duet is called If I Can Dream and it is CELINE DION and ELVIS PRESLEY!!!!Here's the Celine Dion forum board post:
First off ... she said it was amazing. Celine sang a song WITH Elvis called "If I Can Dream."Much like her duet with Mr. Sinatra but using an Elvis Impersonator from Vegas for the on-stage person.
Sounds complicated ... I agree, but she said they were going to actually use the REAL Elvis's face and voice, which is why she prerecorded the performance.
The Idols do come on stage through the song doing back-up vocals. They were dressed in all white.
Celine wore all black, blazer type top with a shear/mesh type top underneath, hair down and long ... loose curls/flips here and there.
She said Celine was in perfect voice and sweet as could be, even after performing it 5 or 6 times.
This will air Wednesday the 25th.

Elvis Shoes Now In Retail Stores Nationwide.Bakers Stores one of the first major chains to test the new shoe line from PSDI USA.
Elvis Shoes are making a lasting impression across the nation at Bakers Shoes, one of the first major chains to test the line, produced by PSDI USA. The shoe – the Canvas King™ – is available in Bakers Shoes stores and its Wild Pair stores, in locations such as Lynnhaven Mall, Virginia Beach, VA; Woodland Hills, Tulsa, OK; Hamilton Place, Chattanooga, TN; Chesterfield Mall, St Louis, MO; and Glendale Galleria, Glendale, CA.
Bakers Shoes has had tremendous success in the 10 test locations nationwide where they have sold the Canvas Kings. “Bakers will begin to implement the Elvis line into some of its other 200 locations nationwide,” said buyer Chris Lane. They are also looking to possibly sell the shoes online through www.bakersshoes.com
Bakers Shoes is not the only trend spotters this season. Shoe City, in Baltimore, Md., Washington D.C., and Richmond and Norfolk, VA, have picked up the Canvas Kings and will begin to sell multiple colors by the end of March. The line has also been added by other boutiques throughout the U.S, including: Image in New York City; Littles in Pittsburgh; Love my Shoes, in Long Island; Via Moda in Miami; Silver Rose in New York; and Shoe Parlor in Denver.
O Koo Ran in Big Bear, CA, sold out of all of its Canvas Kings in just two weeks. Store Manager Debra Klouzer said, “That was a quick turn around for a small store like ours. The rock-and-roll style and the pattern of the shoes are what I think has made them such a hit with our customers.”
Although no international distribution contracts have been signed yet, the shoes garnered high levels of interest during the 2007 tradeshow circuit from countries ranging from Mexico to Russia. Marketing Director Melissa Diner noted, “The Canvas Kings have proven to be a strong crossover shoe for PSDI USA’s comprehensive clientele list. The current sales information has forecast the level of interest in the line, which will allow us to plan accordingly for future expansion and product development of Elvis Shoes.” A new design deal has been made between PSDI USA and Alain Mirran Studio of Paris to design the entire 2007/2008 Elvis Shoe collection.
ELVIS SHOES are produced by PSDI USA, founded in 2001 by French native Philip Chemla, a specialist in apparel and footwear sourcing and supply, who has accumulated over 17 years expertise both in his native France and here in the United States. After working with companies such as Ross, TJ Maxx, and Hale Bob in the U.S., Philip formed a strong relationship with Christian Audigier, founder of Von Dutch Originals, Ed Hardy and most recently his signature line, Christian Audigier. This bond structured PSDI USA to create footwear distribution channels in over 15 countries worldwide and accumulate over $10 million in gross sales in their first year in business. Their elite positioning within both the US market and abroad has put them in prime position to begin the production, selling and marketing of Elvis shoes in 2007.
