"Viva Las Vegas"

* Working titles were; "The Only Game In Town," "The Only Girl In Town," "The Lady Loves Me."

* Filming for "Viva Las Vegas"  began on July 15, 1963 and was completed by Septeber 16.

* "Viva Las Vegas" premiered in New York on April 20, 1964. It was released on June 17.

* Locations for the main scenes included the swimming pool at the Flamingo Hotel, McCarron Airport and the University of Nevada gymnasium.

* The chemistry between Elvis and Ann-Margret both on and off screen was sensational and the gossip columnist had a field day.

Viva Las Vegas Trailer

Synopsis; Lucky Jackson (Elvis) lives to race and gamble as well. Winning a lot of money allows him and his mechanic, shorty Farnsworth (Nicky Blair), to head for Las Vegas to enter their car in the Grand Prix. Lucky meets Italian racing champion, Count Elmo Mancini (Cesare Danova), who is tuning up his car for the race. Meanwhile a beautiful young lady, Rusty Martin (Ann Margret),  pulls up and ask them to fix her car. Mancini fixes the car and without knowing her name, she drives away. Assuming she’s a showgirl, the two are looking for her in every casino but can’t find her.

 

 

The next day, lucky finds out that she’s a swimming instructor at the same hotel where he is staying. He sings “The Lady Loves Me” to her and ends in the swimming  pool loosing all the money he has saved to buy his engine. They start dating and finally wins the first prize. But instead of money, he wins an all-expenses-paid honeymoon in Monaco. Just hours before the race, the money turns up for Lucky to buy his engine. The engine was secretly financed by Rusty’s father (William Demarest), and he wins the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Finally he heads off on his European honeymoon with Rusty.
