"Remembering Elvis" a Documentary (Delta DVD).
Elvis' musical influences were the pop and country music of the time, the gospel music he heard in church, and the black R&B he absorbed as a Memphis teenager. In 1954, he began his singing career with the legendary Sun Records label in Memphis. In late 1955, his recording contract was sold to RCA Victor. By 1956, he was an international sensation, who ushered in a whole new era of American music and populair culture. Music wasn't enough for Elvis..he starred in 33 succesful films, made historic television appearances, and knew great acclaim through his live concert performances. Without any of the special privileges his celebrity status might have afforded him, he honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.
His talent, good looks, sensuality, charisma, and good humor endeared him to millions, as did the humillity and human kindness he demonstrated throughout his life. Known the world over, he is regarded as one of the most important figures of twentieth century popular culture. Elvis died at his Memphis home, Graceland, on August 16, 1977.

"3000 Miles To Graceland" (Warner).
Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has left the building....with $3.2 million in stolen jack. As leaders of a gang who pull off a daring Las Vegas casino heist while disguised as particpants in the town's International Elvis Week, Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner are armed, dangerous and sporting hunka-hunka sets of awesome sideburns. Awesome, too, is the film's supporting cast: Courteney Cox, Christian Slater, David Arquette, Kevin Pollak, Howie Long, Ice-T, Jon Lovitz and more.
Get in, strap down, hold on. 3000 Miles To Graceland, directed and co-written by Demian Lichtenstein, is one kicky, volatile, heat-seeking missile of an action thriller.
