"Change Of Habit"
Many
people rate this movie based on how it stacks up to other Elvis movies. Well
this is not an Elvis movie. This is a really well written, well acted movie
which happens to have Elvis in it. I think this movie shows that Elvis could
act, but let's not forget that other people were in this movie as well. I find
Mary Tyler Moore a perfect match for the role of the love interest/nun in this
movie. Even she herself has said that she didn't think she was right for the
part, but I disagree. This comedy/drama has all the right substance for a GOOD
movie and if you don't get what the movie is about, that just too bad!

“Sun Days With Elvis” Plus “Elvis Presley’s America” (Double feature DVD)
The story of the early days of Elvis Presley and how he walked into the
officesof the Memphis Recording Service to make a private recordingas a present
for his mother has long since passed into legend. However as with all legends
individual versions tend to differ if not on the substance then certainly on the
detail.
This sixty minute DVD provides a unique in-dept view of
the early days of Marion Keisker and Sam Phillips and focuses both on how their
careers coincided and the effect they had on the early days of the King. In this
DVD Marion Keisker is able to put the record straight about what really happened
on those very early recording sessions. But so too is Sam Phillips with quite
fascinating results.

"Almost Elvis"
| Elvis
Presley may have died years ago, but he lives on in the form of 35,000
Elvis impersonators across the country. This film looks at how the spirit
of The King resides in these impersonators all over America, and in their
quest to be named "World's Best Elvis Impersonator" at a
competition in Memphis. Filmed all over the country over an entire year,
this amazing documentary looks at a unique cultural phenomenon. |
