Marty Lacker On EPE V RCA

In reading about EPE suing RCA now for the '73 royalty deal I find it kind of ironic for a couple of reasons.

They do it now 34 years after Elvis died and that Blanchard Tual the Memphis lawyer investigated all of Parker's dealings as ordered by the Probate Judge on behalf of Lisa? That's really staying on top of all the dirty dealings of Parker.

The reason Elvis and Vernon agreed to the deal was because of what happened one afternoon back then that I was present to. Elvis and I were talking by the office in the back yard when Vernon came along with a mad look on his face. Elvis asked his father what was wrong and Vernon said, "I just got a call from Priscilla's lawyer and he said that Priscilla is unhappy with her divorce settlement, even though it had been finalized, and now wants $2 Million more and if she doesn't get it she will sue you." Elvis was livid and called her every name in the book.

I'm sure they called their attorney,Ed Hookstratten in L.A. who handled the divorce and he probably called Parker because Ed was hired after Parker recommended him for all the show business matters. Parker then hatched this deal because he smelled money for him with no consequences as to how it would effect Elvis or benefit him, which I have always contended was Parker's thinking all along. He always made the bullshit comments that he always took care of his boy Elvis but Parker was dealing for himself which Tual uncovered during his investigation. Parker made many side deals for himself that Elvis did not share in with various different companies and deals he made concerning Elvis.

Since Elvis and Vernon died years ago Parker always pinned the blame on them. His favorite line was "I was just doing what Elvis wanted me to do."

The sad fact is neither Elvis or his father was wellversed in business matters and they always relied on Parker to take care of them especially from the beginning when Parker drummed it into their heads for Elvis to take care of the entertaining and let Parker take care of the business.

That unfortunate crap went on for years when Elvis was alive up until the Judge forbade EPE to do business with Parker any more after Elvis died and the results of Tual's investigation were made known.

So in my eyes Priscilla and Parker are to blame for the deal and the whole negative situation.
