This May, ’The Original Elvis Tribute 2010’ took Europe by storm, with 10 amazing shows in Spain, Holland, Finland, Italy, Belgium and Poland. Sold-out shows, excited audiences and fantastic performances made these shows truly memorable. We are now getting the first reviews in, which also reflect the impact that these shows made. Stefania Pruszyńska of ‘Gazeta Autorska IMPRESJee’ in Poland wrote: „Robert Washington was incredibly close to Elvis Presley, both vocally and performance-wise. His splendid performance left a very strong impression. It was almost like Elvis himself was rocking the audience.

There was a remarkable naturalness about him. During the break, one lady could be overheard saying that it had always been her ambition to see Elvis in person, and she added that this concert had almost fulfilled her dream.

The band was superb too, excellent craftsmanship with a great deal of artistry, passion and love for Elvis Presley.

Audiences at theatre shows here usually barely show emotions, usually only displaying their appreciation with an extended applause at the end, however in this case the verdict for the artists from the other side of the Atlantic was various standing ovations!”.

Heidi Kojonen from the cultural webzine ‘Webbop’ in Vaasa, Finland observed: “Suddenly we were transported to Las Vegas and the whole room vibrated. This is as far from a cheap imitation as it gets. Robert Washington was virtually the embodiment of Elvis. His voice was sometimes eerily close, and there was no mistaking those hip movements.

Robert Washington is the King of Vaasa, and this tribute show is the best way to celebrate The King at present.

The presence of Michael Jarrett and Duke Bardwell gave the concert extra weight, but these men don’t live on their old merits only. Bardwell did an excellent bluesy re-interpretation of ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ that gave the concert extra dept”, while Frantic Franky of the Dutch rootsmusic webzine ‘Boppin’ Around’ noted that the show is, “An excellent Elvis night with more than its fair share of rock ‘n’ roll. Not one second of pathetic imitations, and that’s the way it should be”.

’The Original Elvis Tribute’ will be returning to Europe in 2011.
