Chicago Cast of "Million Dollar Quartet" Celebrates 1000th Performance

On Friday, Friday 18, 2011, "Million Dollar Quartet" will celebrate its 1000th performance in Chicago! To mark the milestone, the show is putting a new block of tickets on sale for performances through September 25, 2011.

"Million Dollar Quartet' has been playing in Chicago for 1,000 performances and we couldn't be more thrilled" producer Gigi Pritzker tells Broadway World.com. "The houses in Chicago are still breaking records and it shows no sign of slowing down."

The Tony-nominated musical is based on the real-life 1956 recording by Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins at Sun Studio in Memphis. Next year, "Million Dollar Quartet" will take its jam session on the road. A U.S. tour of the musical will launch in October 2011 at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio.

"Million Dollar Quartet" is currently on stage in London, Chicago, and New York.
