A fire has damaged a historic recording studio in Hollywood where Elvis Presley recorded some of his greatest music.

The fire broke out around 7 p.m. Monday at 1041 Production Studios, located at 1041 N. Orange Drive. Originally known as Radio Recorders.

Firefighters worked quickly, extinguishing the blaze in about ten minutes. About 85 percent of the building -- which houses six recording studios -- was saved, according to fire officials.

Firefighters rescued a cat that belongs to Alex Lagos, the owner of Sable Studios. The cat was unconscious from smoke inhalation, but firefighters were able to revive the animal

No other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is now under investigation. Nat King Cole and the Beach Boys also recorded at 1041 Studios.
