David Hess has died aged 75. Hill was born in New York City on September 19, 1936. In 1956, He recorded the original version of the Otis Blackwell composition "All Shook Up" under the stage name David Hill. The following year (57) the song became a massive hit single for Elvis Presley.
In 1958 Elvis recorded 'I Got Stung', written by Hess. The song went on to be a Double A side hit along with "One Night" and reached No: 1 in the UK in 1959 and again in 2005 when it was crowned the UK Charts 1000th chart topper.
Hess wrote two more songs which were recorded by Elvis, in 1965 there was 'Come Along' which was included in the movie, 'Frankie & Johnny'. And again in '65 for the film 'Paradise, Hawaiian Style' (which never made the film), 'Sand Castles'.
Hess died from a heart attack on October 8, 2011 in Tiburon, California.
